my friends and i will be going HCM during christmas period, can i check with all of you here if Lac Vien or Elios is a better location to stay?

We are very tempted by the VIP room in Lac Vien but Elios seem very posh too.
would like some advice on their locations, which has roadside foodstalls/ small eateries opened till late at night?

Techadd, do you mind if you can let me know the availability of the rooms in Elios during this period and the dates?
Thank you very much :)

just went to check out the land package tour for HCM.

5D 4N, fully guided
Cheapest was S$408 per pax (excluding air ticket)
hotel in District 1, 3 star-hotel: Elios or Vien Dong or Le Duy
all meals provided except 1st and last day

itin:

day 01- tour guide pick up, followed by F&E
day 02- Cu Chi (AM), Vung Tau tour(PM)- Tian Hou temple
and stay overnite in Vung Tau
day 03- Vung Tau tour - jesus monument, then go back to HCM to visit Notre Dame Cathedral, Centre POst Office, City Hall
day 04- My Tho tour - vinh trang pagado, mekong river, ben thanh market
day 05- F&E, airport transfer to airport

1) Is the price worth the itin provided? or at least reasonable?

2) In terms of location, which of the 3 hotels quoted is the most convenient for shopping, as well as hotel cleanliness/ services/ classiness?

3) For NOv travel, woudl the weather be bitterly cold, and would any of the river-related activities be affected by monsoon season?

thanks

Note: I know F&E can allow me to see more things, but i am jsut concerned abt safety and language.

i am arriving on 18 Nov morning 9+.

Tour guide will pick me up and send me to hotel, and that's it for the 1st day.

Can anyone suggest where i can venture to bearing in mind that my tour package will already be bringing me to some of the places of interests in the next few days?

Also, same for my last day on 22 Nov. Whole day free until airport transfer to leave HCM. (flight departure 5.20pm)
Any suggestion on what i can do that last day?

thanks all

6 days still a litte too short all the place will be touch and go le,,,,,,,,

I'm going for more than 6 days allocated at least 1 to 1 and a half day at each location.

1.
In any case, I was wondering, if I were to take a bus from HCMC to Dalat, and then after touring Dalat, take another bus to Nha Trang...

Bus as in those express ones, not those that stop along the way to pick more passengers up.

Does anyone know a good name (of the bus company) to take?

I understand Sinhcafe has been frequently mentioned to be reliable, but I've checked and as far as I know their coach leaves in fixed timings, by the time we touch down, we would have missed it.

2.
I am considering between a train or a domestic flight back to HCMC from Nha Trang, but the issues are such:
- Are the train accurate as of
www.vr.com.vn?
- The price of the domestic flight is unavailable at least to my knowledge.
- Would I be needed to book in advance? (train/ too late for domestic flight now?)

This transportation issue has been bugging me since the start of the planning and I haven't had a good resolution to it, it would be good if someone can help me with it. I get stressed when the date creeps even closer, haiz. :(

dear all,

I would like to ask is dam sen park ( amusment park) worth a visit?

DamSuoi Tien Park is nicer than Dam Sen park acutally both are like a recreational zone with lakes and park... but suoi tien park is more of a buddhist theme park and has monuments which are pretty impressive, see attachments of some of their displays, in short, if u like taking pictures, u can make a trip there..

please see attached photos..

actually frankly speaking, other than those places of interests covered by my tour itinerary, woudl there be anything else interesting to see in HCM?

For the Dan Sen park mentioned, it is more of a like amusement park albeit like Haw Par villa, which could add a bit spice to the trip, but am unwilling to spend one day in an amusement park though...

feels like haw par villa to me..

its nicer and more interesting than haw par villa...:D but really crowded on weekends..there are occasional carnivals which add colours to the place..

Dam Sen is more of a recreational park than an amusement park..:)
