If you are planning to go mui ne, then u should at least spend one night there. plan your accommodation in advance lest you end up with no rooms available.

Travelling alone to mui ne and hcm or any other major cities in Vietnam is relatively safe as well

where do you guys get such a high exchange rate?
at hanoi noi bai airport, the exchange rate is
1USD-> 19500VND only
at hanoi city, best i can find is 1USD->20000VND

anyway, now currently at Noi Bai Airport waiting for my flight to Danang

i exchange 20500 for some of my clients in saigon...

btw, Happy New Year to Everyone...and if you are in Saigon tonight...dont forget to catch the crowds in the city central

was at saigon yesterday, but never went to city central. wanted to siam the crowd.
anyway, now at mekong, tml going back saigon for 2 more days before going back singapore

ah, wasnt really crowded as last year... the lunar new year though is always ZOMG... , have to leave bike at home and walk to the city central instead..

I stayed in Hanoi for more than 2 yrs. Want to answer your question but seem like your question has a bit difficulty to answer. What type of apartment u looking at? Size, location, expectation??? U must be specify then others can give u an answer.

Example, "I am looking at abt 20sqm room with no furnish in a dirty back lane and shared washroom. Ideal area will be 100km away from Hanoi." or "I am looking at about 600sqm penth house with full furnish. In an area, where everyone drives either a ferrari or lambo and a personal swimming pool with attached jacuzzi and gym room."

hi natas, the thing is i have no idea what to expect.. i will most like be stationed in hainoi alone. location preferably near airport (aviation industry, near office).

detail of package not confirmed yet. but i am definitely not going to get great expat package. it's just a field service engineer role (pay: approx: 3k sgd only).. so no luxury apartment for me, most likely a small studio should be fine.. preferably no shared washroom.. >.<

i just need a gauge to help me negotiate the package..

i will also really appreciate if you can share some of the experience while working in vietnam.
