7 cities in 15 days in impossible.

do consider the travelling time. assuming u take buses and coaches, Siemreap-BKK 8 hrs, HCMC-Siemreap12hrs, HCMC-Dalat/Muine 5hrs, Dalat-Muine 5hrs, Dalat/Muine - Nha Trang 6hrs, Nhatrang - Danang 12hrs.

sinkies visa free in ASEAN countries except myanmar.

it not likely that u will get lost at the border crossing.

dont think its advisable to tuk tuk from Ayutthaya to Airport. :s22::s22:

Thanks for the reply!

Could you advise me how many days to go and how much should i bring?
Maybe some tips as well? I really do not know how to plan my trip as I only went HCM once, and others never been there before, but I find vietnam interesting so i decided to give it another try

thanks!

Need advice on the following

1. Recommended hotel in Hanoi.

Tips for any of the above points are greatly appreciated!

I'm backpacking there this November and only have 9 days to travel from Hanoi to Saigon and I know a LOT of people say its too time constraining and impossible but I have the following itinerary in mind:

Hanoi-Halong-Hanoi-Hue-Hoi An-Ho Chi Minh

I know I'll be taking the night train from Hanoi to Hue and splurge on a motorcycle tour from Hue to Hoi An (maybe just stopover Danang to see the beach) but I pretty much need to figure out my way from there to HCM.

Would taking the hop on/off bus be a better option or should I just stick to the long 17.5 hours train ride?

actually its very difficult to advise on how many days to go and how much should one bring.

depending on your objective of the trip, (some may just wanna relax and stay in a coffee place and read books, some ppl prefer the countryside while some others just wan to go to see as much attraction as possible)

i would suggest you read up some guidebook or wikitravel so that you agar agar know what to see.

travelling wise will be by minivan or buses from cities to cities. prices are competitive once u hit the district with alot of agencies. ask around and you will realise the lowest price you can get.

9 days is not really possible. it is just hit and go. suggest you spend more time a one city to explore .. afterall travelling at a frantic pace is tiring.

are you going oct-nov ? i think hoi-an would always flood at that time of the year. although i would say its worth a gamble as its very nice place.

good luck.

Bus from Ben Thanh to An Suong, 4.000 dong.

After that, take minibus from An Suong bus terminal (Ben Xe An Suong), 60.000 dong. 3 hours.

See this mountain, only one in TN, the rest of TN are flat land.

December is the in the midst of the North East Monsoon in Vietnam but I dont think you should avoid it deliberately. What you can do is to plan your Halong Trip as early as possible in your itinerary. The later few days can serve as a backup should the storm comes during the early parts.

Usually, your agency will warn you a day earlier of any impending storm for you to make alternative plan.

Hi guys I just came back from Vietnam last Friday night. Was there for 7 days 6 nights with 2 other friends. Loving the country !

Arrived at Ho Chi Minh and made our way up.
Ho Chi Minh -> Hoi An -> Da Nang -> Hanoi -> Halong Bay -> Hanoi

Air Ticket was $150, brought $400 worth of Vietnam dongs and still have leftovers when i came back ! Haggle everything there, those tours will and most probably rip u off.

Plan to go back there to visit Da Nang beaches and trekking in Sapa, then made my way west to Laos for a much longer period than 1 week.
