You can book the tour there. No issues. Many tour agencies.

For halong bay,2d1n is sufficient. Spend more time at old quarters. They have quite trendy ladies clothes unique in each shop to look at.

i changed both usd and vnd in sg. you can go book day tours to Cu Chi Tunnel and Cao Dai temple (1 day). Book from those agents at the backpackers area (De Tham/ Bui Vien), which is cheaper than city centre.

make sure you visit the Reunification Palace and War Remnants museum too. and eat at the famous Ngon Restaurant!

Hi guys,

Will be going to HCMC for 4D3N next month. Will be staying at District 1, planning to OTOT for 2 days and go for 2 day tours.

1. Just wondering if it is advisable to book day tours via Viator, or it would be better to do it with their local agencies.
Ho Chi Minh City Day Trips & Excursions | Viator

I remembered when I went to Hanoi 2 years ago, their local agencies did not offer much better rates than online ones. But the ones on Viator look quite expensive to me.

2. Other than the usual Mekong Delta, Cu Chi Tunnels and Cao Dai temple tourist attractions, any must-go places or must-eat eateries in HCMC?

Thanks guys.

There are numerous tour agencies along Pham Ngu Lao. Just buy a ticket to go to tunnel or Mekong Delta. Its cheaper than buying from hotel desk. Anyway, some of these agencies just get commission and issue voucher for the bigger operator to pick you.

SGD is accepted at HCMC airport. No need to change to USD and lose in exchange process.

Thanks... btw which is a good hotel location? is ben thanh market region good?

what is the typical rate for a decent hotel in hcmc?

THanks

ben than market will be a good choice for first timers. many 2* to 4* hotels are around there. big chain hotels such as AnEm, Silverland, liberty hotels are avaliable. price range will be at least 35sgd to 70+.

if not u can always head down to bui vein/pham ngu lao area where is known as the backpackers area. many guesthouse and 1 to 2 stars hotels. food and cheap beer are easily avaliable. price range can be 15 usd till 30 usd for a room.

the Luxe is quite good. stayed there during their promotion period. saw the price increase steeply compared to my previous stay :o

d1 is the main hub, d7 for nice chillax area (approx 20 mins taxi time) . d5 for chinatown. good dimsum can be found there :)

no need for sgd - usd - dong. just bring dong and SGD. sufficient

Can I check what's the normal range for Halong Bay 2D1N tour?

I was quoted for following:-
1) USD210 per pax for The Paradise Cruise - Deluxe window cabin
2) USD190 per pax for Bhaya Cruises Deluxe cabin
3) USD139 per pax for V’Spirit Cruises Deluxe cabin
4) USD190 per pax - Aphrodite Cruise Luxury balcony cabin
5) USD169 per pax - Pelican cruise Deluxe window cabin

Are these the usual prices? Which is recommended?

Thanks again.

from what i know if they offer cruise it can be around 200 depending on how many days you going.. If it is a junk it is around 100+.. So I would say your price is around there.

Staying at Vien dong hotel. I will probably reach HCM around 9am. Day 1 is FnE as my land tour starts on Day 2. Day 1 quite nua, any nearby malls, food stalls, shopping center, massage center, and pubs for drinking to recommend? Bringing 100usd and 100sgd worth of vietnam dong can last me 4d3n?
