Can change some or all at hcm airport.
if you have a lot to change and going to ben thanh market at D1 then maybe can try there for a slightly better rate.

no need USD, change lai change kee,... only give $$ to $$ changer.
in vietnam, with dong will travel.

keep some S$ just in case.

we took bus 152 to & from Ben thanh market cheap cheap 5000 dong only
air con bus 30-45mins journey depending on traffic
this bus only operates from 6am-6pm with 20mins interval

I wil be going to HCMC and wish to visit one beach.. I read that vung tau is the nearest from HCMC and I intend to visit there. Learn that hydrofoil is the fastest way to go there, but it seems like the service was suspended in january due to a fire. May I know if the service has resumed?

Change at Vietnam airport. the rates definitely is better than in Spore here. Anyway, if you don't change a lot, the difference is just a few dollars.

have many stops in between, but everyone will get down at Ben Thanh cause it is the final stop.

To take bus 152, when you get out from airport, go towards 1 o clock direction you should see the bus there.

Hi,

I am back from Hanoi. It is not as dangerous as I think. I think Malaysia is more dangerous than Hanoi.

Beside Hanoi, I also went to Sapa and Halong Bay. I went 9D8N free and easy with my spouse and 2 young children.

Weather not so cold in Hanoi but very cold in Sapa and Halong Bay.

Do not hesitate to ask any questions and I will try to answer if I know.

I changed USD in Singapore. The USD is more for payment for my accomodations, train tickets and Halong Bay cruise. Rest of the things I pay in dong.

For makan and shopping in Sapa and halong Bay you can use dong. However, most things are provided for in halong bay trip. You need not spend additional $.

more than 10 stops between airport & ben thanh but journey is about 30-45mins. it only took us 30mins from ben thanh to airport last sat evening.
once u come out of airport, turn left & walk to pillar with #12 on top. the #152 bus stop is just across the road. no need to buy ticket from counter, just pay the driver.

yes, i did. We take the Fantasea cruise around USD85 per pax. We booked from our hostel in Hanoi.

All are inclusive in the cruise. Only drinks are chargeable. We bring our own mineral water and the cruise provide 2 bottles of mineral water in the room. They also provide you a bottle upon picking you up from the hotel and after your boat trip on first day.

I think it is better for you to stay overnite as the journey including stopover for toilet break and visit to a pearl factory take around 4 hours.

You must stay overnite. One nite is sufficent, no need stay so many nites. The scenery is nice, we went with 2 children 7 and 12 years old too.
