Anyway, which hotel is recommended in city center?
Those 2.5 star-3star hotels like lan lan 2, blue diamond hotel near the ben thanh market are not bad. The more atas hotels are further frm benh thanh along Ha Ba Trung street

usually for tiger 7am flight, so far will reach HCM around 8am+ local time ....
if you take your own sweet time go toilet and the custom also take their own sweet time + the crowd... may reach exit by 8.45am?... that's for me.
wah if you first time there with no guide ... donch know what to advice
but for me most likely I will get my "viet guide" to being me to district 5, the hcmc china town, our usual cantonese style eatery for very authentic dim sum. Then check in hotel lor. But so far most of my early morning flight is to catch the domestic flight to other city. Must agree is rather risky if tiger delay.
If i reach HCMC 8am in the morning, what can i do at this hour?

You probably are going hcmc for the first time.
Get a mobifone sim card at extreme left end of airport for 3G.
Take the bus 152 outside burger king and alight and ben thanh mkt interchange.
Then go to phuc long and get a nice cup of milk oolong tea.
Start to plan your day =)

I'm halfway through my 1 month Vietnam solo trip and I've met 4 Singaporeans so far. I'm currently in Hoi An making my way to Hue on 8th June. So far I've already covered Saigon, Mui Ne, Dalat & Nha Trang. I miss Singapore coffee tbh, Viet coffee too thick hah.
Hi can i know what viet guide you are referring to? Is it a tour agency guide or those students where they bring you around in exchange for culture experience? Would like to solo travel to viet but it seems like having a local to guide you is better in experiencing this country?
.Hi bro i heard district 5 cost of living is much cheaper. Do you have the address of the authentic dim sum place?
here's the address..go before 1pm
on average 一笼 ard S$3
all crews can speak mandarin and good cantonese .. better than most sinkees
cost of living .. similar ba ..
but for hotel, other than the 5 star Winsor (costly), seems like the 3 star An Dong Center hotel is considered ok ... the first hotel I stayed in hcm.
Inside Winsor hotel there is also a restaurant that serve dim sum... but hotel price

my guide is a vietnamese friend.
if go solo first time and can't speak their language at all... kinda risky and scary to me .. unless there is mrt like BKK

How much money should i bring there? Light shopper here, maybe t shirt or some souvenirs.
Anyway, do i need to pay entry fee to Reunification Palace
... but maybe you have different experience & luck
