I am using a mediabox Action AS-19 Pro, play any movies from Netflix does work. If it works, only for a while then message comes up. The browser, other apps worked well though.

I assume it is android platform? Have you updated the app via aptoide?

Updated from play store

Singapore app store? Not sure if the app has hardcoded DNS in it or not but you might consider using the steps in the following link to reroute DNS request back to the router's default DNS aka VQ DNS assuming you are using ASUS router?. Also, did you actually request VQ to do custom routing to Netflix USA?

Asus DNS reroute Also include opendns servers just to be sure.

So now VQ uses Starhub's route to China? Completely unreachable to pan.baidu.com

Code:
~ $ traceroute pan.baidu.com

I've been having problems accessing pan.baidu.com for sometime too. Sometimes, download would drop to 0bps.

Also, my PPTV access is also having problems. Eg some dramas were Geolocked even though I have subscribed to the FVPN.

Missed the good old days where Andrew (aka Monkey) was around to help out when we PM him for help.

But the thing is...their price are now pretty much comparable to other ISP...so I don't know what premium you are paying...

VQ 1Gbps = 49.90
M1 1Gbps = 39
M1 GamePro 1Gbps = 49
Singtel 1Gbps = 59.90
Starhub 1Gbps = 49.90
MyRepublic 1Gbps = 49.99

Now maybe, not when I signed up.
That's the premium......

Their operation is mainly handsoff and remote. Which is fine but their problem resolution needs to be better ie more active cust service.
My 0.01 opinion is dont go with them. I am not sure if My Republic has good performance but VQ isn't what it seems I feel. There's too much inconsistency in cust service. Sometimes you can get through sometimes can't. But billing is always on time :)

To be honest, i really rather VQ dont play price war with other provider... quality suffer in the end, i rather pay a bit more for premium service that was before the price war happened, but you know...
price is the main factor when the normal consumer compare provider, how will VQ gain market share and new subscribers... but now i doubtful how VQ can survive playing price war

Either way VQ still suffer from the ISP war for sure, compare use to be UNDERDOG M1 already implement gamepro and elevensport plan and still on going the lowest ISP till now..
Mostly all ISPs except VQ offer free Home voice call while VQ still need to upfront a couple of dollar for it..
Myrepublic was the first 1gbps ISP plan that goes for $49 that low then after all ISP try to follow the price war but i still cant see VQ can offer any special thing other than $200 or the expired annual payment which is market tactic system..
So for all along VQ should really do some attractive bundle other than following those others ISPs promotion but endup still suffer hard time..
In the end VQ is just like old time pacificnet which is just another castout ISP unless they do something big attraction offer..

The forum here is a good vent for those who have something to say and share. While many may have experiences deviated from their expectations, I am sure the silent ones are pretty satisfied and is their choice to stick with VQ. I am one of them. I do have M1 fibre as a backup in case, for my work and home secuity based on my preferred redundancy needs aka kiasu. I am one of the pioneers with VQ and overall experience is positive. I have subscribed to Singtel and starhub before but decided on VQ as my primary fibre vendor. :)

I am with VQ when it launched their home subscriber service.

Been using VQ for 4 years already, just re-contracted recently. Didn't really have issue with them other than nation wide outage or undersea cable issue...most of the time saw people complaining but am still happily surfing net...:s22:

Though, I do agree that this price war thing seem to be affecting quality and their technical support ability seem to have dropped quite a lot compare to in the past.

Thinking about the hassle to change ISP also puts me off and VQ is already on my 2nd TP port. Used the first port when I was on M1 100Mbps before switching to VQ. Talking about M1, I didn't have issue with them as well despite so many complain of slowdown in forums...:s13: Was using N56U at that time or maybe, certain exchange do have more issue?

Anyone else in the Upper Thomson area without internet connection?

They can't do anything about it without an onsite technician from what the rep and I discussed over the phone, since their remote tech support is absolutely helpless with regards to the matter

Can't keep in touch with my clients, and burnt through almost 2GB of mobile internet so far syncing files with them and pulling some much needed work references

Thomson area having no issue with internet. have you given them a call/message on fb/pm @viewqwest here?

better luck with official channel than unofficial hwz forum

have been with VQ from the early days too - back when it was still 100mbps plan. no major complaints - biggest was when they dropped ipv6 support and early vpn days when it was flaky. other than a dead power adapter for the zhone (once), and a very very yellowed zhone, i have had no major issues i can recall. now and then there will be maintenance but i don't use my internet in the wee hours of the weekend so no issue for me.

to be sure, there are outages now and then - but i have a dual wan setup so i only notice if i'm trying to use Netflix/amazon/BBC.

Just sign up for VQ few days ago and I have been facing streaming problems be it YouTube or Netflix. Every 5 mins it will be buffering. Did a speed test and it shows ping @ 2ms and download @ 119.30Mbps. Now I really wonder did I make a wrong choice to switch ISP.

Welcome to our nightmarish experience!!! :s13:

Better start praying
