But as OP said VQ would change the IP to a wrong one, so how do you know which is the correct IP we should have?
I believe when the technician first came to your house for installation, they got write down the ip address.

If not email their cso

I am on M1. Only downside compared to viewquest is the lack of free static IP. But with M1 you get a IPv6 address as well.

Myrepublic use CGNAT so it's a instant no for me.

Starhub got some small issue with their DNS and ipv6 reliability.

Singtel will lock you into their ONR.

Whizcomms is basically Singtel without the lockdown ONR.

I am quite technically noob.

I am going to leave VQ too.

For M1, why is the lack of a static IP important ? For getting back to the house network from outside, is it ? I currently use DNSDYN to do so. Is that a solution ?

A DDNS like DynDNS should work. Unless you are hosting web content on your network then you should get a static IP address

Actually, I have been on viewqwest some time and honestly, I don't see what the service problems are which everyone seems to be complaining about.

I mean, they answer the phone way faster than starhub did ages ago and they don't have mega long downtime, which I have experience with starhub before.

I used to trade and it was really crap when starhub went down, while with Viewqwest, I have not gotten caught with my pants exposed.

Just my two cents worth.

You dig a 2018 post which was case close just to say ViewQwest is good and Starhub put your on hold?

The customer base is different. Starhub might have 2-5 times customer then ViewQwest.

For home use internet, i think all ISP also do not have security protection. User can get their router with security protection or/and use DNS with some protection. User can also install security software on their devices. Log in with standard local user on your Windows computer and not as administrator.
