Yes. Required.

But the embassy online application quee system is damn damn stupid.
Give u quee no but no appointment time.

You must be familar with the way they work.
What time not many people At the embassy.
Then u will minimise the waiting time queeing for visa application.
As fast as 20mins.

If not, good luck... easily..2-3hrs of waiting.

Visa at Embassy

From recent experience, you just gotta make an appointment online. During the appointment day, visit the embassy just before their lunch break, so that you don't have to wait for an indefinite amount of time in the morning.

Go straight to the counter and show your appointment letter and they will process for you. By evening (from 4:30 to 5:30pm), the VISA can be collected. All within one day of your scheduled appointed day.

azurechicken gave excellent advice. But if you are lazy and one day leave is too precious to you, you can pay an agency to handle it for you. :)

oh ya.....if you are driving, dont try your luck parking there.
now all changed to zigzag line.

I kana 1 time summon during my very 1st visit to the embassy.
3hrs of morning burnt!

I applied 5 times Tourist Visa last year.

On the 4th and 5th time, Counter kept on asking me why am i visiting the country? Ask me whether am i going there to work?

They even ask me to sign idenmity letter to confirm & chop that I am a tourist and not going for Business meeting or talk!

Really wtf!

Make an appointment online. Turn up at 8.30am to submit your application. Come back around 4.30pm same day to collect. The cost is actually $10 more than stated on their web. :s22:
You can go without making an appointment but will have to que behind.

To make things easier, just go to a travel agency in Peninsular Plaza. I used Vega travel, but there are also others. Good thing about Vega is that they also have a branch in Yangon near the city centre.

Not only can they apply visa for you, but they can also give you travel advice and help you with your domestic flight, ferry and hotel bookings for a small fee. If you don't want to waste your precious time, this is a good way to go.

Well, at least is not Bhutan where you need to part US $250 per day.

But honestly, any country charging US $50 and more for visa, most likely does not want you to visit the country.
