The cost for eVisa is indeed crazy at USD 50 . i mean the need for a Visa is already a crazy idea :s11:

When I visited about 3 years ago, I had to go to their embassy to apply. Although their website published an application fee, I was surprised there was an additional S$15 which they cited as admin fees which was not mentioned at all. Honestly I think they are getting a bit greedy. But then, their tourist infrastructure is still underdeveloped so maybe it makes sense.

Visa-free travel within ASEAN for ASEAN nationals has been a common goal of ASEAN for the longest time. Till this day, Singapore and Malaysia still require Myanmar citizens to apply for visas before entry. Likewise, Myanmar requires citizens of these countries to obtain e-Visas prior to entry. The other 7 ASEAN countries are granted visa-free entry to Myanmar.

It is their country.
They have their right to set the rule as their wish.

It is your choice - go or not. They didn't force you.

If you think USD50 is crazy, you can don't go.
