anyone got this?
sg can play store Google play and play netflix in uhd?
there literally was a post above that said no to a few things.
The world of China imported phones and using China ROM is vast and requires your own risk-taking and experimentation because each manufacturer (heck, even each phone) may perform differently.
Confirmed to be working for all China imported phones on China ROM except Huawei:
- Google play services aka GMS. This allows you to add a Google account into your system and install essentials like Play Store. But you can only do this after an initial set up so you won't be able to restore any Google Drive backups.
- Most, if not all apps. The Play Store is not as regulated as Apple App Store so anything goes. Else, installing APK will work too.
Iffy/Need to see your luck/Heavily dependent on brand/model;
- Google Pay (because it's tied to security). Youi
- Banking apps (same reason as Pay)
- Widevine DRM Level. Dependent if you get L1 or L3. L3 means no HD content on Netflix and Amazon Prime.
- Notifications. China ROMs are very lenient on their own apps like system apps and wechat, weibo etc but anything else usually gets gimped heavily in the name of "battery optimisation" so you have to dig around your power/battery and notification settings to see what can be tuned.
So yes you have to get your phone knowing the above risks. Nothing that will render the phone completely useless in SG although I think banking apps quite important la/
