The external lens is co-developed by Zeiss that mounts with a phone case uses the 200MP ultra-large sensor. When installed, it is a 200MP 200mm F2.3 (traditional 8.7X). It uses 13 high-transmittance glass lenses in 3 groups of Kepler structure, which further expands the telephoto of X200 Ultra by 2.35X, bringing a 200mm pure optical effect.
i think DOF gonna be big issues hope they got solutions. also i don't think this will be giveaway during preorder, after all not everyone need that external lens
They should really not make the X200 Ultra a domestic only set.
i suspect not their call

Yeah i guess. Also, hopefully a 3rd party add on case can enable the lens to be used for other devices haha
There are third party cases to attach lenses on taobao. However mostly iphone and expensive for for case and lenses.

Another type is spring clip on with adjustable lense mount. But need to align correctly. Cheap lens will affect the image quality.

telephoto shallow dof issue is only at the closest focus distance. No issue for far subject.

More serious issue for long telephoto lense is atmospheric haze make very far distance photo washout. But the lense optical 35mm equivalent is only 200mm. Maybe not a concern.

Yeah those cheap lens won't compare to this, hopefully there's an adapter to make this lens compatible with other phones.

i think it going to be mounted on 85mm f2.6. not sure how will be impact those who shoot wildlife. for landscape i think usually no need for such long focal length

Understandably one is photography focused, one is not.

Lyt 818 with the enabled triple gain has an advantage in noise. ( Rumors are that function is nerfed in the pro model so as to let the Ultra shine )

Very small difference. Xiaomi onmivision 1/1.3 claims 13.5 stops dynamic range. 14 ultra lyt 900 claims 14 ev dynamic range. Based on the sony lyt 818 specs 86db, i caculated is about 15 stops dynamic range.

hdr and computational multiple exposure stacking very difficult to notice the difference. Saw a comparsion review video under very dark outdoor condition at night no much difference. Maybe in raw photo, but smartphone raw is also processed may not be single exposure.

edit: 1 EV is about 6.02db, lyt 818 86db =14.3 EV

Thanks for sharing ur thoughts (y)

Yes smartphone raws are mostly 'computational stacked raws' rather than single exposure true raw data from sensor. XM Ultraraw is stacked vs XM Raw. Even titular Huawei raw can have some processing/motion artefacts suggesting stacking.

In a single exposure, Sony's own full frame sensors can hardly hit 15EV dynamic range, much less the ( smaller) Lyt 900.

V单 is Vivo's camera branding

( 微单 is mirrorless camera,V单 sounds suggestively similar )

I'm very tempted to try x200p after watching the reviews. Camera is important to me and I am looking for a new phone that would do well with concert recording too. But for the china set, is it can't use Singpass right? How about Global set?

Currently using Pixel 7 Pro...
