Jumped onto the X200 Ultra bandwagon... So far loving it. Haven't used china rom since x70 Ultra. So much better, Origin 5. All apps so far are working well.

After using the x200 ultra for 2 weeks and bringing it over on holidays. Here's what I think.

Good :
  • Photos are amazing. Coming from an S23 Ultra, it's leaps and bounds above.
  • So many usable built in filters and settings to suit ur every need. Vintage portrait and classic negative are my favorites.
  • Wife calls me IG hubby now.
  • IPhone 16 pro max users asked me to take their photos. Lol.
  • Battery life is OK. Nothing impressive but likely koz I've been on my camera a lot.
  • All apps work even tho on a China ROM. Banking, singpass, gpay, work apps, android auto. Some might need to tweak settings for battery management etc to push notifications.
  • 6/6 sale price of 1372sgd with vouchers for a 1TB variant is ridiculously good for an ultra model. Got mine for 1550sgd. Value wise is a no brainer even with the little quirks of being a China ROM.

Bad :
  • Even with beauty mode off, u can still see artificial smoothening of the skin. Wife's not complaining tho.
  • Sometimes photos look too sharp making them look AI altered. Need to set sharpness down.
  • Work profile apps like outlook and Teams don't push notifications at times and work policy does not allow u to tweak the settings for the same workaround as normal apps.
  • Work profile apps Don't t allow u to use other keyboards depending on ur company's policy. But less work is maybe a good thing?
  • Everytime I restart the phone, all my work profile apps on the home screen gets deleted and I have to redo my work profile folder on my home screen.
If anyone has a workaround for work profile apps notifications and prevent it from being deleted from my home screen everytime I restart the phone, that'd he great. Thanks.

You use drawer style or standard style? Mine standard style no such issue

What I meant was goto playstore - profile - Manage apps and device - Updates and it will say 'Something went wrong, Try again.'

Pardon of this is a noob question but you can't switch the focal length when taking a quick snap within WhatsApp?

Just found a trick, or solution around my most annoyed things since sony z3 xperia days : Sony Music App Center

Backstory
z3 was when i uploaded and "burned/ nero-ed " my physical CD to pc windows xp days , to android nexus/ LG g9/ etc etc then to subsequentlyiPhone.

Sony Music Center was ironically the most comfortable and easy to manage music folder type app.

Fast forward to today, x200U with good DAC inbuilt....its a waste not to transfer from iphone to this phone.

1) Download https://pc.vivo.com/#/ the macOS or PC
2) Install that software
3) plug in the iPhone via USB cable
4) Using Finder [ because im a macOS user ] , navigate the internal phone --> Apps --> Music Center (sony )
5) plug in the x200U , navigate within the Vivo Office Application
left column will have your phone name x200U
6) Select [ 文件管理 ] --> then [ 手机存储>MusicCenter]

now both iphone and x200 u both should be connected to your laptop , or for my case its macbook air.

why : limited space on the macbook, each and every transfer of 10 folder music albums, i will do the following

7) Copy from iphone [ musice center ] --to--> macbook finder first ( as it doesnt allow me to directly drag and drop to the vivo office suite app )

8) Copy from macbook finder [ temp folder --to--> x200 [ 手机存储>MusicCenter]

Now whilst both are still intact, just check the Music Center on x200 U has the same albums transferred.

and delete from [ macbook Temp folder ] , and thus [ Music Center from iphone ]

Hopefully this helps those at the Sony camp as well.

Hi @BradenHeat,

Erm can I ask if in any events our x200 ultra cui or something spoilt where can we get it fix or any recommendations for repairs?
Its odd you would ask something thats NOT international market but china marketed only.

Most of us here took the chance and of course the sellers do need to play ball and have very good reputation, not just the phone company.

nah,.. cannot fix it locally, unless those Phone shop have spare parts or they wiling to eat the warehouse costs

the guy whom i bought from shopee indirectly. Says to look for them in china and get it sorted if theres any issue.

if you've broken it, best to send back through official channel or fly there

to fix it or have some of the folks here who frequently fly there to quote
