One lesson to learn is that ordering greens in restaurant is suicide. All restaurant owners know people today will order some vegetables as part of a healthy diet. Vegetables are really relatively cheap but sold at exhorbitant prices in restaurants. This is called exploitation of situation. Lesdon learnt is: avoid ordering vegetables in restaurant. Go get your greens from the market for your home cooking.

errrr... I don't think people who consider ordering a $40 plate of vegetable as suicidal are the target clientele of these high SES restaurants

because even if they sell you for $4 is still a 100% mark up! these evil restaurants

Crystal Jade is owned by the group of companies which also owns Louis Vuitton, so I believe the HK kailan is also priced at LV type of price.. Lol.

Ever since Crystal Jade bought over by LVMH, I find its price increasing quite substantially & portion shrinking. Used to be fairly decent casual Chinese restaurant that I patronized regularly with my family. But recent years just find it getting from bad to worse... there are many new Chinese restaurant chains which provide much better value.

If I really want quality & atas, wouldn't go for Crystal Jade too... will go straight for the hotel ones like Wan Hao, Min Jiang.

Crystal Jade standard now is like a mid-tier casual restaurant but trying to charge upmarket restaurant price. Stopped patronizing them in recent years

The prices used to be fairly reasonable with decent portion under the old owner. Now they charge almost like hotel restaurant prices for a measly portion.
