Hi How did borderlinx calculates it to be 10kg for something that weigh less than 1kg and volumetric weight 1.38Kg?

Hi,

Allow me to give my generous opinions.

It's definitely human error.
The vol weight of the box is 1kg +
The mass weight is actually less than 1kg but they placed as 10KG.

I checked the handwriting, the typing, it's all clear that it's stated 1kg.

Any slight push, slight lift with a finger, slight blow from the mouth can tell you how much it can weight.

So in the end, I supposed your case was resolved since you mentioned that it was human error? For something that weight 1kg/1kg plus but being charge for 10kg is unreasonable. So is it still alright to use borderlinx given your experience?

Does anyone knows which is the cheaper option if I want to ship something like >10kg of products? No experience in this area yet.

Ship from merchant?
Details details!?!

I suggest if you are doing private shipping may ask for FOB shipping by DHL or something. May want to contact a cargo freight agent if you are unsure/for quote, just use the yellow book.

Yes i do. My experience was they received my package on friday ET and i received an email on Sat morning SGT and throughout the weekend, I have the same message as you did. But on Monday early morning, ard 6plus am SGT I checked, it cleared and i was able to authorise the ship. It guess its just a matter of Citibank SG clearing the first transaction.

Please also note, if you want to apply promo code for Borderlinx, use flexiship. Don't autoship. I made that mistake, so i can't apply any more discount when the package is auto release for shipment.

Overall, the service at BLX is very good and professional in my opinion. There is always someone on the online chat to help and clarify.
Every shipment is calculated correctly for me according to Vol weight/dead weight which ever is higher. Calculator is correct if you provide the dead weight and dimension. Even the conversion to SGD and charge by Citibank is very closely matched, few cents diff.

I had 3 packages from 1 merchant but ship to BLX in 3 consecutive day using UPS *trackable* and then borderlinx to sg *trackable* and GST free.
Hassle free, peace of mind.

Had used vpost b4.. nightmare for 1 weeks+ worrying about what is happening to the package. I don;t think i want to go thru such experience for a few cents/dollar of shipping difference.

CGW, haven try, but i will try maybe. However, their weighting is rounded up next 0.5kg.

I would choose whether to use BLX or CGW depending where the merchant is. Borderlinx is Ohio (East of US), Comgateway is Oregan (Pacific side of US).
Internal US ship cost and duration is a factor i cost to the overall charge also.

So doing your homework and maths is important i guess 8)

You might want to try the calculator at BLX if you have the dimension. Also chat with the CS there if they would accept your package. 10kg i guess is your item dead weight only. Vol weight is important for flying on the plane.

I had shipped 10kg with Fedex before for my computer chassis. Pretty exp, and also was charge GST of nearly S$80 for both cost(item+ship).

FEDEX charges at least 5 SGD per kg, not the cheapest.

I suggest you look around.

If you are shipping out, it would pretty easy to just find any shipper via yellow book.

Shipping in from merchant is much more fuzzy, especially if you do not want to deal with 'generic consumer concierge services'

Haiz, apparently, there is no good shipping service. I am using vpost, and its just horrible.

They take 2 days to process my invoice, then send me a reply asking me to indicate the merchant's name. Come on, is it not indicated in the invoice itself?

Then i send back the email and it took another 2 days to process. Every step of the whole process takes 2 days to process, so the whole processing time takes more than a week. Its like they received the package today and then only indicate on their website 2 days later.

I asked them to check my package to see if both items are in there, and they replied asking me to give them the price of the second item. WTF is the bloody invoice i forwarded them for? Do they even know how to read the email beyond the first paragraph? Or are they just freaking lazy?

Their service used to be fine, but now it really sucked.

quite true, service standards from the 3 are fair from satisfactory, tried and tested.

just choose the cheapest will do.

vpost is my choice because they have been the cheapest, at least for me.

vpost is certainly getting from bad to worse.

once shipment is in they just send to my home without informing me, and upon calling (it takes ages through the autoated dialler - seek personal assistance instead) they say their schedule is full and can only deliver 5-6 days later!

so basically its low-priority "slow-post" once it gets here.

speaking to the customer service guy is useless - I got a filipino sounding guy who seemed disninterested in my request for expedited delivery, who promised me that there would be no-one above him who would be interested in hearing my case out! also took down my contact details and promised to keep me updated, regardless of outcome (so I can arrange my schedule) but he never called back.

a year ago I remember speaking to a few local singaporeans - they were a little bit disorganized but at least did what they promised and kept me informed all the way through.

Too bad for vPost as I'm a heavy ebay customer - now its over to Borderlinx for me next shipment.

anyone tried: http://www.viaddress.com/individuals.php for shipping from USA? They have a lowest priced guarantee.

wait for the end-of-month debit card statement sent to you by your bank.
There will state clearly the amt in SGD.

But the verification is done is USD. DBS already stated the SGD in my account, I need the USD amt to key in the verification.
