ya hit $400 must pay tax. but like mine, mayeb their system calculate never hit so didnt pay. not sure yet. wait till items arrived

and yr bag qn etc, all these are a gamble. u never know how big the box is going to be and its hard to say which one is better. cgw has repackaging services, charges it and their volumetric calculation seem to be worse than borderlinx. u can check their website n check on that.

Thanks. Getting my wife to decide which one she wants is harder then choosing btw CGW & BL:D:D

It's just like buying an airplane just to travel to some island or more realistic it's liek buying a car in a foreign country that u are only staying for 2 weeks. Doesn't make sense to do it.

CC is free anyway bro.

Anyway, citibank also have good discount for esso petrol. Can use it for 2 purpose..

When citibank CC Platinum requires minimum $30k gross annual income and $100 annual fee.

btw, i notice CGW offers Gateway Prime rates, which is US$13.25 for first 0.5kg, and US$2.25 for additional 0.5kg (standard), is it cheap?

Fyi, I own more than 8 credit cards (DBS/POSB, Citibank, HSBC, OCBC, UOB, Maybank, CIMB, BOC) and I have NEVER EVER pay a single annual fee from the day I started working!

For the cash-rich banks, it always costs more to acquire a new customer (e.g. must pamper new customers with gifts with new card sign-up) than retaining an existing one. So always THREATEN to cancel your card when they ask you to pay up the annual fee, diff banks will use diff excuses to ask you to continue, like try to use the card 3x this month etc., even you don't do it they're not going to go after you coz it's more expensive than you think! :D

CCW lies

Had a terrible Christmas thanks to comgateway

Ordered 2 units of the same thing for my 2 nephews. Only 1 unit came. Gave it to one of them, now the other still waiting for his Christmas present.

1. PayForMe messed up the order from start
I used comgate payforme service and they charged me 5% of the total purchase price for their service. I had to ask for the purchase order so as to confirm the items.

PO reflected only 1 unit. I ask the online chat customer service and they send me some other document saying it was in order.

2. admin fee for GST. is it the norm?
GST was charged and on top of GST, they charge 5% for their admin

3. Customer service don’t listen
The weight of the carton was too light for 2 units. I asked the chat customer service, they brushed my concern aside and insist everything was in order

4. Only 1 communication channel
Fedex was good on arriving on 24th dec but only 1 unit delivered. CCW was closed; even the online chat was closed. I was force to send email.

5. Anyhow charge my credit card
The customer service claims the merchant short ship. She gave me 2 options
1. Cancel the order for that 1 unit and get refund
2. Re-order and charge my credit card if any extra (no more Christmas promo)

Questions
1. It has been 2 weeks since 24th Dec, seems like they are passing the ball around.
Can I go to CASE because there is a possibility that they lied?
Customer service saying it is merchant fault instead of PayForMe messed up order, and want me to pay the extra.
2. Shoponline and CCW are Singapore registered company?

I find that vpost is cheaper for large vol weight items.

Most of my items are not heavy but in large boxes.

Dimension : 48.0X 67.0X 20.0 cm
4.4kg

Vpost: 104.42
Boderlinx: 111.92

And boderlinx still have to pay sales tax.

correct me if i'm wrong.

1) If you have read comgateway's FAQ, you have to pay 5% on top of the item for their concierge service. Another 0.3% insurance on top of everything (including shipping).

2) What item did you buy, is it above $400? If it is, sadly, you have to pay GST of 7%, ontop of that, you need to pay 5% service charge of paying the GST for you. But it is 5% of the 7% charged.

3) When it comes to shipping weight, they will either charge volumetric weight or physical weight depending on which is larger. What i dont get you is, you complained it is smaller, shouldnt you pay less, isnt it better?

4) comgateway uses DHL for logistic, not Fedex. If it is fedex that arrives at your door step, something is very very wrong. comgateway doesnt work on weekends or public holidays, their customer service work in 5 days week.

5) Why dont you cancel the order and get the refund? Since either of them, CGW or the merchant, made a mistake, there is nothing you can do about it. Dont tell me you want to sue them for making this mistake..

What puzzled me the most is Fedex, the biggest problem is this, wrong shipping company.

1.
And btw.

i'm not sure if i'm correct.

For Vpost and if you have two parcels each say $300.
You will not be charged GST.

For borderlinx, you have to pay cause they will add up both parcels.

So won't it bring borderlinx much more expensive compare to to vpost?
Vpost has no sales tax if you use Oregon's address and it seems to me that vpost is cheaper using the online calculator.

2.

Another thing is, i read somewhere that borderlinx will open each parcel to check?
I think vpost not as bad and strict right?

A deep consideration if you want to bring in prohibited items like sprays, electornics, etc.

But i think now the customs are extra strict after the recent terrorist attempt.

Thank you Tatsit for helping,

1) no problem with the 5% concierge charge and 3% insurance, if the delivery is in place.
what I expect for the concierge charge is at least a PO to confirm purchase done and to inform customer,
preventing discrepancies, especially when the concierge is fronting the deal with the merchant.

speaking from my personal experience, I got the PO, only after much request.
And when I highlighted the quantity discrepancy in PO, CGW email reply insisted everything is in accordance.

2) 5% of the 7% GST charged, is no big deal. My question is: is this normal industrial practice or peculiar to CGW?

3) "What i dont get you is, you complained it is smaller, shouldnt you pay less, isnt it better?"
Not when you are expecting 2 units and the weight indicates towards delivery of only 1 units.
Not when you highlighted this expectation to their chat customer service and they ignore your concern.

5) "Since either of them, CGW or the merchant, made a mistake, there is nothing you can do about it.
Dont tell me you want to sue them for making this mistake.."
Why not? Why must consumers bear the mistakes of corporations?

6) What puzzled me the most is will CGW
a. drop the ball, pretends nothing had happened and forget even the refund.
b. go ahead and refund, dont care whether customer happy or not
c. go after merchant or follow up the order to close the case

if a or b, then I believe we have a case against CGW for
a. fraud, collecting monies and not delivering goods and services
b. deceit, collecting and holding monies, promising goods and service but not deliverying, ending up with a refund

7) I am very upset with this transaction. I ordered it end Nov(during Thanksgiving), it is now middle of Jan and the poor boy's Christmas present has yet to arrive. It's not about the money since I had paid it. It is about disappointing my nephew. Will not deal with CGW ever.

I think you have a case. Contact your merchant and lawyer would be good. Another mystry is the shipping company, it is supposed to be DHL no Fedex, if Fedex is the one who appears at your door step, i suggest you ask CGW about it

I'm not sure about shiponline, but i use from the direct, parent company comGateway itself and so far no problems. Here is how it is like if i use their concierge service:

After i made the purchance from their website, i get this email
CGW-Order.jpg

After 1 working day,
CGW-Placed.jpg

Then they will inform me when the package has arrived, i choose to consolidate with another item, this is how the shipment order looks

Borderlinx Sucks !!!

Comerxia which is now Borderlinx does not deserve to be on this forum !

They went bankrupt a couple of years ago and scammed a few people for their products including me:

2 years later, I'm still waiting to get refunded for my item plus all other damages.

COMERXIA / BORDERLINX : YOU CAN'T JUST SCAM PEOPLE AND CHANGE YOUR NAME TO BORDERLINX !!! PEOPLE ARE NOT STUPID !!! :s27: :s27: :s27:

Well, having items shipped to me by various deputy services, there's nothing much to worry about if Fedex come to deliver instead of DHL.

Simply because maybe Fedex is faster (can catch certain flights in certain days/hours of the day) and CGW just chose Fedex, or perhaps its holiday season thats why DHL gave part of its consignment to Fedex.

Think this is normal practice in shipping IMO, had mechants/shippers often contract various shipping agents (at destination port) depends on season.

Had a few cases of items lost by VPost, and they decided to refund me after a month or so. I was angry at some of the parties involve, but now I think I am perhaps fooled by the 'illusion' of logistics involved that made internet purchases from overseas merchant possible.

It is simply not easy to transport products from factories to consumer, many people are involved.

Even harder if you want to send the products back for refund, especially for high end products... imagine paying GST TWICE! cos merchant does not have refund policies, only one-2-one exchange or you need to do some RMA overseas.

- Still waiting for my laptop... 000 slow

Can anybody correct my calculation?

comgate prime cost US$ 11.0 for first 0.5kg.
additional 0.5kg at US$ 2.7kg.

Vpost one time S$13.4 base charge.
First 0.5KG at $4.30 (surcharge + fuel charge)

Borderlinx i'm not sure how but base on their calculator

If you have one parcel that weights 1 KG.
Assume forex rate is US$1.35 : S$1

CGW prime will cost you US$13.7 which is about S$18.50
Vpost will cost you $17.70
Borderlinx will cost you $20.23

If you have 2 parcels that weights 1 KG
CGW prime will cost you US$1 + (US13.70 x 2) = S$38.30
Vpost will cost you $13.40 + ($4.30*4) =$30.60
Borderlinx will cost you $20.30 * 2 = $40.60

.
