so cheap ?? so is tenso fast ? i heard they use ems to ship ?
what the estimate time from japan to sg ?
but i register on the web, they ask me to verify my id. so u send anything over to ensure your identification ? :s22:

Yes they use EMS. From Japan to SG, should be 3-4 working days.
Yes, you must submit a copy of your IC. You can mask the photo and thumbprint. The first shipment must be sent to the address on your IC.

Did the merchant use a huge box for the soft toy ? Not sure if it will affect the weight. My item was just a phone, so the box isn't very big.

there's also malltail.. anyone tried? but i dunno how to read :(

so far i think cgw is the cheapest..cos you can repack (like give them explicit instructions and they actually do it).

There is a slightly cheaper forwarder at http://www.jshoppers.com/forward/ for JP to SG, but I have not tried them.

Please help

Hi all Amazon experts,

I intend to get this doming set from Amazon US. I tried using AmazonGlobal and searched for the doming set and I found this Stalwart 75-9880 Hawk Deluxe 24-Pc Dapping Set with Wood Stand - Job Site Safety Equipment - Amazon.com. However, when i tried to check out with my SG address, there was this important message "We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order. ". I believe this is a common problem when items from other sellers besides Amazon itself cannot be delivered internationally unless it is in the limited categories like books or DVD media.

This doming set costs $55.51 and weight = 8.2pounds (3.72Kg).

Now if I were to use services like vpost, can any expert pls advise me how to go about doing this as I have never done this before. 1st of all, which one to use, vpost, comgateway, borderlinx? And roughly how much shipping costs I am going to pay on top of the item cost?

Thx in advance.

Amazon only ships stuff sold by them to SG. Not for Sellers.

For your case, I'd suggest CGW / borderlinx (personally haven't used this before). I totally DO NOT have confidence in vPost.

Usage is very simple. Sign up with the forwarders and you will be given a US address. Buy from Amazon and ship to this US address. Once shipment arrives, your forwarder will contact you via email about the shipment. From there, you just indicate what to ship to SG and pay the shipping fees. Hope this helps. ;)

Thanks a lot.

I read up a bit from CCW website and tried the costs calculator. Understand how the shipping charges are calculator but I need to understand more on the fuel surcharge and insurance.

Just use my example.

Item costs : 43.99 USD
Item weight : 3.7Kg
Local delivery : 6.99 USD (flat rate)

So base on CGW Standard International Shipping, US$11 1st 0.5Kg and US$2.85 every additional 0.5Kg.

The shipping charges should be : US$11 + 7 x US$2.85 = US$30.95.

How about the fuel surcharge and insurance? Cannot understand from the CGW website.

You've got the shipping charges correct!

Fuel charges this month are 9.5% -- 30.95 x 9.5% = $2.94

Insurance costs 0.65% of total cost paid to CGW, and protects your items for their declared value (up to USD10k)
= [Item cost + Intl shipping (incl. Fuel Surcharge) ] x 0.65%
= $0.51

Total cost paid to CGW = $34.40

All charges are made in USD, and more information is available here: comgateway.com/2012/service-supportprime-shippingratesFuel.do?l=en&c=SG

So the total costs for the item to reach my doorstep in SG will be : US$43.99+ US$6.99 + US$30.95 + US$2.94 + US$0.51 = US$85.38

And there is no other hidden charge I should worry about (besides the GST for CIF > S$400)?

Thx.

You have to hope the seller does not use an unnecessary huge box which will increase the volumetric weight greatly.
Can try the live quote on their website to get an estimate for the shipping cost or check with the seller on the size of the box they are using.

Will be getting a pair of tennis shoes from Amazon this week. I think I'll be charged by the shoe box's volume since the whole thing is less than 1.5kg?

Is hopshopgo with the 20% off shipping + free express upgrade the best option?

How to get this HSG promo code?

Getting some stuff from US using Hopshopgo. Noticed that the shipping charges are reflected as "NaN" when I tried to ship the package. What does this mean? No shipping charges?

Update: There was a glitch in the system. Now the charges are correct. Time to ship my stuff :)
