i think in my case i compare viaaddress with vpost. Cos of the citibank CC that borderlinx needs which via address does not have.

the total cost calculator in viaddress is not helpful. doesnt give the total estimated cost, it only give the shipping cost

Sales tax are only imposed when the buyer's address is in the same state as the Seller's business.

You should always check with the seller:

Amazon orders shipped to Viaddress in Indiana will not get charged Indiana sales tax.

However if you ship an Amazon order to Borderlinx New York address bellow, will get charged 8.625% NY state sales tax:

Please stop giving out false information and misleading others.

- Borderlinx's main shipping hub is in Ohio, not New York. Not sure where you get your details from but that New York address is /not/ where I ship my items to
- I am not charged for shipping Amazon items to Ohio, just like Indiana

But fair enough, you are correct when you say that "Sales tax are only imposed when the buyer's address is in the same state as the Seller's business." It all depends on your merchant. Some merchants have outlets in all states, so no choice will kena sales tax.

As an aside, Vpost has an address in Oregon. Oregon does not charge sales tax, so if you use vpost you won't have to worry about sales tax.

Also, why have you not responded to my query on shipping costs? No answer to give?

Borderlinx SUCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Without knowing that there is a tie up between Borderlinx and Citibank, I registered an account with them. Despite me choosing Singapore as my country, I was registered as an EU customer and given a New York address, and charged a registration fee of USD$5.

I only realized I need a Citibank card when I wanted to ship items back. Only then did I contact their customer support and received HORRIBLE support from cheap Indian representatives. They pushed ALL the blame to me. I don't understand how the blame can be on me, since I already chose my country as Singapore, unless of course they didn't know Singapore is not an EU nation.

Such practices is akin to holding my goods hostage and forcing me to get a Citibank Card. Despite their cheap shipping charges, this is probably the last time I will use them.

I even found more Negatives reviews about this Borderlinx SCAM :
