I already GG comgateway long time back due to several bad experience with their repacking. Now I trying gshipexpress for my usa items. Quite happy with their free repacking and their delivery speed. (got my package within 2 days..)

Please do not use VPost at all. Customer service is horrible and they aren't honest at all. They can't even put 2 plastics bags into one of my existing boxes when there are ample space. First before they ship back, they claimed that there isn't enough space. When I received the items, and called them to ask why they claimed that there isn't space. Their reply is that they don't do "consolidation". So much for trusting and using a Singapore brand.

This Comgateway many things don't repack anymore, the shipping charges becomes more expensive.

Ok following up to my Gshipexperience. Ordered some essential gear for my upcoming trip departing Singapore on Sunday.

Package was delivered on Friday 9:22AM at the US facility, and only until now has it been added to my account for payment.

I even emailed them in advance that my package was on the way and that I would need it urgently. But they gave a generic reply saying they had high volume of packages. In the end it took 5 days to add the package to my account.

On top of that I'm not even sure they repacked my package:

Chargeable Weight 9kg
Physical Weight 2.46kg
Volumetric Weight 8.50kg ( 50cm x 50cm x 17cm )​

Volumetric weight is still 6+KG more than the actual weight. Did they even do any repacking? And on top of that they rounded it up to 9KG? WTF!?


Last time my package was 1.02kg and they rounded it up extra 40% to 1.5KG - fine I take it as I'm unlucky. Then again it's their measurement so who knows.
Then now they happily rounded up my package again when it was an exact 8.5kg figure.

I'm really hoping to get my package before I depart on Sunday. Otherwise I'm pretty much screwed and have to buy my gear in Europe which will cost me 3X more. But lets see, other bro mentioned it took 2 days to receive the package, so fingers crossed.

Forwarders have been known to tag items at 500g, so it is always possible for them to round it up to the next 500g.

And it helps to really understand what volumetric weight is so you dont feel you were cheated. I always measure the packages sent to me and make sure the volumetric weight is correct as per the company's guideline.

gshipexpress sucks. i bought some stuff from abercombie from them and it took them ages to update the package when it arrived (about 1.5weeks since the UPS tracking became delivered). then when my package came, it wasnt the full package i got. bought 10 items and in the end only 8 came. totally WTF

can anyone recommend me a forward for purchasing items from japan? Last time I used Vpost, the shipping was ex (lucky for 1st time user voucher) thanks to the merchant using a big box. Since I will be buying from the same merchant shop(official shop) and I cant find the pack smaller option, will need some other forwarder...

I ordered a watch from Amazon, delivered on Wednesday. BUT, goshipexpress hasnt update the status till now!! I have another item stored with them - 20 days left. Also dropped an enquiry which they havent replied me past 24 hours already.

Quite disappointing. Ive been using hopshopgo for years with no hiccups.. Though expensive I always got my items and updates quickly.

If you dont mind paying more, I would recommend hopshopgo.. Only time I used goshipexpress is because my HSG address was flagged for review off urbanoutfitters and I urgently needed to order an item (sale period).

Price is reasonable. You're getting express shipping for $16, what more can you ask for?

From my past experience, this is a lucky incident. Last time when I brought my amazon and ship to CGW, amazon ship from different locations and ended I pay repacking fee for 4 packages. (repacking fee x 4 times)..

Anyway free express shipping is a standard shipping. I believe all the freight forwarding companies have this. Gshipexpress, Borderlinux, Vpost, CGW..

I got my package with gshipexpress within 2 days upon shipping confirmation. So I am not sure how express is for CGW. (3-5 days?)
But each person have different views. One thing for sure is i no need to pay repacking fee for gshipexpress. (unlike vpost and cgw).
