went for samsung ua32f5500amxxs

actually still not compatible for my old mount but the uncles got a very gung ho attitude

went down 2-3 times to find me the correct screw.

very happy now the reponse time for loading video from my nas is faster than my 2011 samsung ua46d6400 tv in the living room.

tv colors not natural though had to adjust here and there. older samsung la22a450c1 tv that was spoilt had nicer colors outside of the box.

same with the 2011 46 inch tv

30 dollar installation and free delivery on top of the 600

paid 600 for it. if courts i think its cash and carry for that size. and no installation also. but gain city has this tv for 699.

Really want to change the wall mount for my LG LA60".
Are all mounts universal so no more drilling required and where can I see a selection of wall mounts and prices.

So difficult attaching additional HDMI cable and LAN cable when I need them.
Missus doesn't like cables all over the place so I have to detach when she's finished using them.

I understand your constraint, but that will mean faster wear and tear on the cable connectors. Although HDMI 1.3 specs has a durability test of 10,000 and 5,000 cycles on Type A and C connectors respectively, the life span of the cable (and the LAN cable) will definitely be shortened with frequent disconnections.

Anyway I believe the sight of the cables will become transparent over time so you may not have to endure it forever.

why not get a avr with HDMI inputs or a HDMI hub. Place that in the cupboard. All connect there on surface see 1 HDMI cable only.

Also why need to disconnect LAN? Wireless or powerline or white flat LAN cables will make it invisible. Wife always an issue. Hahah

I wanted to get a LG that comes with free wall bracket that will be installed by the "agent" . I told them i just want the bracket, they don't have to mount it for me....they say they can't give me the bracket like that. is this common practice?

Universal mounts(vesa compliant) means bracket to TV. The bracket support may not be universal.

Perhaps my cheap and simple setup might be suitable for you:

Wow!
That is such a neat solution and one I think about and might well try.

Come to think of it there is a place in Townshend Road which has timber and will cut it to size, so if the Ikea stuff doesn't fit my 60" then maybe I can get something done there.

Thanks for the idea my missus will be well pleased.

Hi, I'm curious to know about the installation fee for wall mounting too..

I'm looking at either SANUS FULL MOTION BRACKET F215

ip051115.jpg

or QUEENIE FULL MOTION S40A

ip042283.jpg

Both cost $199/- but dont think it includes installation fee.

"Separate charges may apply if customer requests for wall-mounting service or wall bracket from installer. Payment is to be made directly to installer (Charges may differ for different brands/vendors)." - Courts

Anyone tried before?

I rem seeing homefix sell sanus products and sanus provide free installation, but wonder if the promotion is on-going. Maybe you can check it out.

Hi, I'm a authorised dealer from Leicester marketing, which also supply to courts homefix and Harvey Norman. I have full range of Sanus and Queenie wall brackets. For s40a, I can quote you $150 with installation and delivery. Do get back to me 97508000.
