Hermes silver ss. I was naive to think it will not sell fast. First time buying haha.

Damn, switch oled. Must be nice!
I was looking at Hermes but the strap not really to my liking. Else the Hermes space black looks really nice.

Congrats. Quite lucky to get on launch day!

I found that mainly aluminium models are available for pickup at stores. Some, depending on your combination of bands, are available while some need 2-3 weeks to deliver, while some not available at all.

Stainless steel mainly will be delivery, but similarly, lead time will depend on strap combination as well. But doesn’t matter to me as I just need the watch module.

Yes, I realized depends on band also. Last time I like SS model also especially silver SS. But rough person always ended up with visible scratches and not easy to brush it off. Until Titanium model came, I like matt surface and Titanium is easier to brush off the scratches. I done the brushing many times using scrotch bright and scratches easily removed. Although the price different is $200, Titanium get 2 years warranty (Apple care for SS is $139) and extra sport band (Titanium knob). So, in total, I am paying like less than $30 bucks for the Titanium material? Above are my own opinion and usually I do get Apple care for SS model every time.

I upgrade every year so makes no sense for me to get AppleCare. Stainless steel ultimately will get small little hairline scratches even if you’re very careful. I know this would happen so I’ll try to minimise it. But that’s the characteristics of stainless steel, just like genuine leather forming patina.

I always stick to silver stainless steel as it matches best with my silver link bracelet and milanese loop. Also, it matches just about any other band too.

You can check Hermes stores, will have more stock there vs at apple. My Hermes sa told me usually no problem with Apple Watch availability so no need to preorder.

I ordered at 8pm and all of the pick up options says 15 Oct but not available. Only shipping 30 Oct onwards. Very curious why some ppl are able to pick up next week or even on launch day?!!!

Same for iPhones. When I was looking at preorder all are like only available 2 weeks after launch date. But when I go to store on launch day plenty of stock available.

personal opinion
I felt stainless steel more solid. titanium looks like aluminium and aluminium is the worst for scratches, but anyway it’s a Watch.

Planning to get my first AW.

didn't know its so "hot" like iPhone launch. I thought it will be plenty of stocks lying around as I'd think almost everyone need an iPhone but only a handful want/need an AW.

What are the chances I can snag one if I just walk in next weekend? Like I mentioned, since its my first AW I wanna try out the size and fitting of an actual piece rather than pre-ordering it without the feel of an actual one
