may i ask if the warranty is transferable to SG if brought from Amazon? Or have anyone try to have the warranty cover in SG?

IIRC, nope.

Send it back to Amazon urself. But usually i wouldn't recommend buying any mechanical drives back from other countries. Couriers have the tendency to throw boxes around.

sounds like i better return my newly brought WD My Book 4TB. And buy Seagate external HD later instead.

How much u bought?

2TB for 239 retail. member price is 229. apparently, i think it is not officially out yet. seems like WD asked me to PM them privately as they were interested who i bought it from. they kept insisting that the MyCloud is to be release early this year but i told them i bought it already. haha

Always wanted to get a NAS main purpose are:
- backing up photo/video on mobile device
- watching stream video on mobile device

Based on what I read so far most NAS have issues with streaming video to mobile devices, hence have not jump in. Reviews of my cloud seems to be positive on this so I'm considering now. Let me know how it works out.

Thanks

My cloud is the newer NAS version by WD. Newer interface, supposedly better performance and USB 3.0 port for direct transfers/backup.

Unknown. Power adapter might be able to procure. That's why u need to hv a backup strategy before that ever happens. They hv a feature called safepoints that helps manage that.
