Minimum Bachelor but a Master is preferred. Some have PhD. There were a few PhDs in my department at that time. However, I am not sure of the payscale. But defintely no TA for lecturers. We planned the lesson materials, conduct lectures and tutorial and grade assignments. Then all the paperwork of keying in the marks, submit reports on how well the students had done, how many passed/failed and why etc and present this during the Board of Examination. Then got to make adjustments to contents according to industry feedback/trends etc. On top of chairing clubs, organise overseas trips, Poly Week, Orientation/Open House etc. A lot of saikang.Poly lecturer need PHD?

Be librarian in school better?![]()
Yes! I was so tired I fell asleep at the canteen. I had 188 students, no co-sharing of module, which I found out later from friends in other poly that this should not be the case. My stupid Director was basically taking advantage of me. That was my first time lecturing. Quit after 1 year and went into adjunct teaching after that.Seem like lecture life also like sec sch teacher?

Paid hourly. Lesser paperwork. I still had to take attendance, grade assignments and write a module report at the end of the module but no need to be present for BOE (Board of Exam). However, I must go down to the poly to collect and return the students' work. No transport allowance. The hourly rate covers everything.Adjunct teaching what’s the diff?
I am a zharbor lah. The younger gen are not easy to teach. As the poly allows laptop during lessons, the si ginnas at the back of the lecture hall are doing online shopping all the time. 188 students in the hall.jin satki
does tutoring young and hot poly xmm perk you up?
then end up prof hanky panky with you, the TA....Is to keep an eye on the prof so no hanky panky with students
When I was in poly got those **** lecturer and we cannot understand what he was saying, may skip lesson or just do other work during lecture.I am a zharbor lah. The younger gen are not easy to teach. That was in 2007/2008. No thanks, will not be going back. Now Early Childhood training comes under NIEC so the 2 polys that offer ECE courses come under NIEC.
That is understandable. I am a local and I am very meticulous in my lesson planning. I would always rehearse my slides before the lesson and made multiple adjustments. This kind of perfectionism is not sustainable. When I was in poly got those **** lecturer and we cannot understand what he was saying, may skip lesson or just do other work during lecture.
Anyone nose?
TA at uni level means you are facilitating class tutorials, answering students' queries (not sure about marking though) so you must be more knowledgeable than the students. Minimum Master degree or undergoing a PhD in the subject you are tutoring the students.
Why didnt you ask them? Are they Master/PhD students? Thanks. Appreciate. I asked bec my elder dotter got the TA jod. She is steel in uni. I didnt bother about it but I am told she is paid. Now 2nd dotter also got the TA jod at uni too. So it piqued my curiousity what exactly do TAs do. Trying to determine if it will affect their own school work, are they trying too hard to earn extra pocket money and should I top up their allowance etc.
