how much did you pay for the "zotac GTX950 OC version" ??

the GTX 980 should be around 100% faster than a GTX 950!

Wah, not funny liao. Please remember to keep records of all your correspondence with this person (even phone calls if possible), in the event you need to make a police report, or pressure him to refund your $$.

If he continues with the BS, I would prioritize getting the rig back first. Confront him about getting your money back + police report after you get your rig back. Cos you dunno if he will try something funny to get back at you and you are left with nothing.

Is this repair guy a freelancer or what? Can give us the back story on how your system ended up with him?

i have already got back my rig and paid 600 for it. Now i want him change the invoice and sent me spec..seem he claimed that this gpu not out in sg.

not sure which Zotac GTX 950 the SLS shops are carrying (Zotac has 3 different GTX 950 cards according to their website), but the SLS shops are listing their Zotac GTX 950 at around $260. Even if you got the AMP! version, which will be the most expensive version, you have overpaid for it. Insist on an itemised invoice, it will be interesting to know what your service guy charges for each item.

and back to the GTX 980 that you have, have you tried bringing it to Ban Leong for warranty service yourself?

What kind of servicing was done?

Zotac GTX950 OC going for US$203 on amazon now, US$140 during Nov 2015 black friday sales :s22:

@1.4-1.5 exchange rate, that's S$284-$305 (now) / S$196-$210 (black friday).

"Not out in sg" may be technically correct, possible that the local distributor didn't bring this particular card in, cos don't see it on local price lists. PCT pricelist for reference:

Ask the repair guy whether this card has local warranty and see what he says...

For sure is zotac GTX 950 OC version based on the look of the GTX and also the spec i checked using techpower app.

Overcharged is one thing but he still BS that this card not out yet and when launched is 1450 and is 4gb which i check dxdiag is 4gb but is 2gb dedicated vram + shared memory 2gb. He still tell me is AMP version but the spec is OC version only..

For GTX980, i will sending backing to Ban Leong ..

I can only blamed myself too impatient and a good lesson too.

Hmm, can you run GPU-Z and take a screenshot? Cos Zotac officially has no 950 with 4GB listed on their site, whether OC or AMP.

This is what the Zotac 950 OC looks like...

Ya i check Sim Lim pricelist cannot find this card. Maybe shipped in from overseas + shipping cost will be about 350 - 400sgd, the card he charged S$515 and he say the module spolit too so charge S$75 for the chip.

For warranty yes - he said 5 warranty which include water dmg, static dmg ..but problem is invoice need changed first..if not useless too.

Servicing = transport + sent to service center + check cpu for hardware lifespan

Did you see the screenshot I posted above? Can buy from amazon with free shipping to SG, assuming this is the same card you have. Max cost price $300+... Markup $50+ for purchasing service+installation can still accept, lol, charge $515 is chop carrot.

New card module spoilt? What module spoilt? He so pro can change the GPU chip??! This one is not even chop carrot, likely is pure BS.

4gb i think is 2gb dedicated vram + shared memory 2gb from dxdiag

i keep asking him where is 4gb only 2gb dedicated + share memory and he reply post the spec to me few days i will know...

Don't use dxdiag... it doesn't always report GPU ram correctly.

GPU-Z: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/

If don't want to download GPU-Z, try with this instead:

Windows 8

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Select Display.
  3. Select Screen Resolution.
  4. Select Advanced Settings.
  5. Select the Adapter tab. Here, you will see how much Total Available Graphics Memory and Dedicated Video Memory is available on your system.
