Instead of sharing net worth, I'll share my target networth by 55. Hope to hit 6m by 55. 1.5m as educational finds for 3 kids and the balance to generate passive income of about 10-12k/month (assuming 3% returns).

$6m like very xiong, from the cpf life chart, if they allow you to pledge 2.4m+, can get 17-19k per month for life :o

If you have kids at the age of 30, then at the age of 55, your kids already graduated.

If use all 2.4m to buy religare health trust which is rather defensive, with a yield of 7 % at current price, you can get 14 k per month, and still get to keep your capital until you up lorry.

Seems a bit risky for me to put everything in a single name stock. Credit risk is something I don't compromise.

My father's net worth is as good as zero - no house, no insurance etc and depends on me for his living. His only asset is his CPF RA of $56k which cannot be nominated and will be returned to me upon his demise according to CPF rules :s13: Until then, he is withdrawing $1,098 monthly payout from the RA that goes into a new joint account with me. As joint owner, he is not fully aware of this account and nothing has been withdrawn from this account :s13:

Mid 30s, a good figure would be around 500k-800k

For the more ambitious, around 1.2m to 1.5m

For the high flyers, good to aim around 2m-2.5m

Since everyone seems so shy to share their net worth, let me start the ball rolling. My definition is all assets minus all liabilities. About S$1 mil now. Was S$440k 10 years ago.

Mine is also around 1-mil. I had included the cash value of all my participating policies.

So does Nett Worth include the HDB flat that you are currently residing in?

Yes if u use the calculator in the link I posted. Makes sense too, otherwise a person with a full paid HDB and $X will have the same net worth as someone who also have $X but no property.

But in my opinion, the typical Singaporean heartlander should omit HDB flat residence as part of the net worth, as your HDB flat residence is needed for staying long term, and is therefore an illiquid asset.

If you Google definition of net worth it is just all assets minus all liabilities. They do not differentiate liquid or illiquid assets. Anyway, it is not like one cannot sell one's house and just rent if the situation calls for it.

Because that chart is only the cash in the bank account of those people who posted their bank balance statement and not including their total net worth such as investments and other assets...
