What is your three months activity level? 🤔

I have three highs. :(

Based on your three-month activity records from July to October 2026, I would rate your physical activity level at approximately 9/10 for a 44-year-old man.

That's a subjective rating of your activity volume and consistency, not a validated cardiovascular fitness score. Your records place you firmly in the active category, above the average observed in a relevant Singapore study.

### 1\. Your three-month performance

Average daily steps · July–October 2026

### 11,749

Active

10,000–12,499 steps/day is classified as active in the established Tudor-Locke step-count framework.

### 1,131,206

Total steps

### 797.14 km

Total distance

### ~82,243

Steps per week

### 66 days

Step goal achieved

### 2\. Comparison with Singapore adults around your age

A particularly relevant study published in Communications Medicine in 2024 analysed 3,075 participants in Singapore's National Steps Challenge. Their mean age was 44.2 years—almost exactly your age.

The findings were:

| Comparison group | Average steps/day | Your difference |
| --------------------------------- | ----------------- | --------------- |
| Singapore participants aged 40–49 | 10,500 | 12% higher |
| Male participants, all ages | 11,000 | 7% higher |
| All study participants | 10,400 | 13% higher |
| You | 11,749 | — |

The important qualification is that National Steps Challenge participants volunteered for an incentivised activity programme, so they are not representative of all Singaporeans. Your comparison with the general population is therefore likely favourable, but these data do not justify claiming you're in the top 5% or 10%.

### 3\. Where you fall on established activity categories

| Daily steps | Activity classification |
| ------------- | ----------------------- |
| Under 5,000 | Sedentary by step count |
| 5,000–7,499 | Low active |
| 7,500–9,999 | Somewhat active |
| 10,000–12,499 | Active — your category |
| 12,500+ | Highly active |

These are research classifications of movement volume, not direct measures of heart health.

Your three-month average sits in the upper part of the active category. Your August week averaging 14,575 steps/day would qualify as highly active, but the longer-term average is the more representative measure.

### 4\. How beneficial is your activity level?

A 2022 meta-analysis in The Lancet Public Health, involving 47,471 adults, found that adults younger than 60 generally experienced progressively lower mortality risk up to approximately 8,000–10,000 steps/day, beyond which additional benefit became less pronounced.

A 2025 review similarly found meaningful associations between walking around 7,000 steps daily and reduced risks of several adverse health outcomes.

You are already above these levels.

That means you probably don't need to pursue 15,000 or 20,000 steps every day simply for additional longevity benefits.

Your cycling and stair climbing add variety and intensity, although step counts alone cannot quantify those activities precisely.

### 5\. My rating by activity domain

| Domain | Rating | Reason |
| --------------------------- | ---------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Daily movement volume | 9/10 | 11,749 steps/day over three months |
| Consistency | 9/10 | Sustained high movement across the period |
| Aerobic activity habits | 8.5/10 | Walking, cycling, stair climbing |
| Strength-training programme | Not enough data | Stair work is not equivalent to comprehensive resistance training |
| Cardiovascular fitness | Not objectively scored | Requires testing such as VO₂max or an appropriate exercise assessment |
| Recovery | Needs attention | Average sleep 6h 50m and recent fatigue |

These scores are qualitative assessments, not measured population percentiles.

### 6\. What I would prioritise next

Given your current activity volume, I would maintain rather than increase your overall workload.

Your greatest opportunities are likely to be ensuring sufficient recovery, doing structured resistance training twice weekly, and addressing the cardiovascular and glucose abnormalities identified in your latest blood tests.

Your fasting glucose of 7.8 mmol/L and HbA1c of 6.3% show that high physical activity does not automatically eliminate metabolic disease. That is why appropriate medical management remains important even with your activity record.

Your average sleep of 6h 50m also deserves attention, particularly while you are experiencing unexplained fatigue.

### Final assessment

I would describe you as a highly active middle-aged adult, rather than merely someone who exercises occasionally.

Your average movement is above that of even an activity-focused Singapore study sample of people around your age. Sustaining it for three months matters more than achieving an exceptionally high step count on one or two days.

The remaining gap is not a lack of physical activity. It is making sure that your sleep, nutrition, muscle-strengthening routine and metabolic health are keeping pace with the amount of movement you already perform.

I'm late 40s. Got high blood pressure and taking med every day.

I hike every week at bukit timah/rifle range and do weights at home almost daily.

I think my bp is at a decent level.

As we age, we lose muscle mass, so good to maintain it. Also strength training helps to mitigate risk of falling and we can recover faster.

### Physical Activity & Health Tracker Data

my daily average is 9.2km, just like you. but i clock around 100–125km of running per month, so that adds a bit more to my daily distance. my RHR is in the 50bpm range :)
