Anyone can advise … if when I got the board the BIOS was version 2001 from Dec 2023, and I flashed it to the latest version 2501 from Aug 2026 …
… is it possible to flash down 1 version before the latest, which is 2405 from Jan 2026? The Intel ME firmware corresponding to the 2405 version BIOS is also 1 version older … is it still possible to do the BIOS Flashback? I never tried this before![]()

Wasn’t talking about downgrading the Intel ME. The question here was, if the Intel ME between the latest version & the 1 before it got an update, then if BIOS Flashback to the 1 version before the latest version, will have issues with the Intel ME for the latest version or not.Only BIOS can be flashback, Intel ME cannot else risk of bricking.
I suspected it to be a case of bug showing double since setting to 1.25 -> save & reboot back into BIOS the readout changes from 2.128 to 2.5xx.from online posts, this seems a bios readout doubling bug that was reported even in v1x bios.

newer asus board can use bios flashback to go back earlier bios even if bios said irreversible.
but no point for this, if it works and latest bios has security updates.
just interesting how fast Intel and partners abandon Z590 boards, and never fix this bug.

But the thing is, when I set 1.25, the numbers in the field also show up purple (I think it looks more pink than purple but people in those other forums say it’s purple) which is supposed to mean dangerously high (there’s also supposed to be yellow that is higher than normal but between normal & dangerously high). Which is the reason for this second-guessing.
I’m thinking I will try a BIOS Flashback of the same latest version (the update I did was using the EZ Flash inside BIOS), since people say BIOS Flashback does a wipe of the previous flash (as opposed to EZ Flash supposedly you are flashing on top of the previous BIOS) … also try with a fresh new download from rog.asus.com (i.e. ASUS Global) see if it makes a difference, the flash I did was downloaded from rog.asus.com/sg/ … can’t see the source when mouseover so can’t tell if they are actually same source or different, but just try lor.

On previous platforms the VCCIO voltage was an important vector for high memory frequencies. On Rocket Lake, Intel has split the VCCIO voltage into 2 voltage: 1 for the memory controller and 1 for the rest of the IO.
When memory overclocking, the VCCIO for the memory controller is the one that needs to increase. A voltage between 1.25v and 1.45v should be sufficient for memory speeds up to DDR4-6000 and higher.
CPU VCCIO voltage at default of 1.05v powers everything else.
In the ASUS ROG BIOS you can access the VCCIO voltages in the Extreme Tweaker menu. In the section with the voltages you’ll find CPU VCCIO Voltage and VCCIO Mem OC Voltage. It is recommended to set the former option to 1.05 and only increase the VCCIO Mem OC Voltage when overclocking the system memory.

No time to fiddle with this board the past 2 nights, but I’m pretty sure I saw VCCIO Mem OC Voltage.unless the newer bios asus go combine vccio cpu and vccio mem display/readout?

I came across a post in 1 of the OC forums (ocworkbench, overclockers, can’t remember which) where the person was seeing what they also believe was double their VCCIO Mem OC Voltage … their CPU VCCIO Voltage reading was normal though![]()
Srsly. The thought has crossed my mindIf board really pump out 2v, then can also set it to 0.6v see if it will boot and show 1.2v![]()
The thing is when entered 1.25 the numbers turned purple, which made me chua tio and start to second-guess whether it really is just a visual bug or it really doubles the actual CPU VCCIO Voltage.
The only difference is the 1.05 that I set the numbers are in white (as opposed to the 1.25 I tried previously the numbers were in purple).
