Whatsapp backup

Coz when selecting backup in WhatsApp app , it says iCloud must have enuff storage and even 2.5x more.
If they are separate then technically won’t need to rely on iCloud space for the backup inside WhatsApp app?

Well till such time Meta wakes up & fixes it, guess will just have to rely on the icloud backup which for me is fine cos if i get new iphone, the entire back up is restored to new phone anyway. As long as I don’t lose the chats can liao.

Guys, I tried to log out of my iCloud account and log in again then do backup on WhatsApp. The backup is slow but somehow it solved the backup issue.

After I transferred and log in to my new phone, though chat history is restored there is a new problem now.

When I tried to do a search in the chat itself, result cannot be shown and it keep showing “preparing result (2%)”

anyone encountered same problem after changing to new phone ?

Oh no. It didn’t happen within 1 day. More than a week now already! Shows “Preparing results(8%)” up from 2%!!

Did you try to leave the screen on, with the backup screen overnight connected to power?

bro dont mean to scare you ok, mine has been 3 weeks and its only at 72%

online got remedy saying that you should try to search something and force the whatsapp to calibrate the search function faster but it doesnt work knn

however it does calibrate by itself in the background but its taking weeks LOL

now i cant even search my old chats

the only way to backup my whatsapp now is using itunes

use iCloud? unless yr backup is too big..

icloud doesnt work, it will say preparing then stuck there the whole night

end up need to delete the old whatsapp back up then redo, troublesome

weekly just backup to itunes safer

Wow my also alr 3 weeks but stopped at 9% and never moved. Still can’t search history.
