Hi all android users, I only recently found out that Whatsapp on Android is not free forever, and it's USD1.99/year after one year free. Is there any way to get around this?

No. Or keep changing a new number each year.

It's only 20-30cents per month, huge savings compared to SMS.

WhatsApp is an investment, give free for years to gather popularity.it's only fair. And cheap with group chat and reliable 'mms'

Piang.
It cost less than your one plate of chicken rice but yet saves you lots on SMS/MMS.
I hardly even use SMS nowadays.
Especially when you are overseas and have free wifi, you get to whatsapp back to your love ones for free.

Please support those who develop good apps. If all don't want to pay, what is the incentive for them to develop good apps?

I agree... whatsapp is really cheap... only 2 bucks a year...

and ya.. if you don't want, you can always use another app for it...

Line doesn't seem to be as popular and as reliable... think ultimately I'll still pay the 1.99...
