No lah. Just a few more steps. MIUI forum also has a guide posted. Otherwise just follow the steps that the EU grp provide on their site.

This ROM is not official ROM yah - they have agreement w EU distributor that it does not void their warranty but it is not officially sanctioned by Xiaomi. Custom TWRP means no hope of Android Pay. Not sure abt Pogo...

IMHO we can stay on custom shop ROM until official global comes out. Steady steady since everything already working "out of the box".

Sounds complicated haha

Shop rom is not officially and u will never get an update from miui. Furthermore, we do not know where did they got the rom and what has been added into....

Oh yeah definitely shop ROM also not official. My main concern is gapps working and mobileiron w divide PIM for work so the easiest way there is enough for me. I'm less bothered by 'security' I suppose.

Do EU ROM offer OTA update?

No. You need to download the full rom and update it manually. Only Official Miui ROM will have OTA.

First there's no official Global ROM so you'll need to wait for it to be released (if ever). I've not seen anyone find a source for the shop ROMs that many of us have so unless someone has the skills to back it up, it will be lost "forever".

To really go back to 'stock' then u will also need to go back to stock recovery instead of TWRP and lock your bootloader. I haven't seen a source for stock recovery...

FYI if Android Pay is your aim then going fully 'stock' on global ROM seems to be a requirement. There's ppl who say magisk works (on other devices) but I don't have experience w that.

Hey guys, assuming I install EU ROM, what's the process of going back to official global rom (an reliably get any new official OTA) ?

Do I need it flash back stock recovery etc? Or stick with TWRP OK?

There's demand for sure. Colleague from India was here for a visit and was thinking of getting a new phone. Saw the Mi6 was selling at up to $900 in India so we quickly checked for stock and got a set here before he flew off.

"Jason" codename device also spotted and rumoured to either be Mi6c or a Redmi. Hope they don't do what they did w Mi4 and launch only lower variant ex.China...

I think it's pointless to release budget version of Mi6. If using a mid range soc, the duo camera photo might not be desirable.

Taking google pixel camera module on BB keyone. Same sensor but diff SoC. The effect is one sky and one earth.

Lei Jun said that there won't be budget version of mi6. Meaning the new device could be entirely different design and different camera setup in the redmi pro line or mi 6c line.
