I think almost all adaptors look like this, you can't expect an adapter to be a fanciful designed one right..

Xiaomi said that the decision to remove the 3.5mm jack is to make a more cleaner aesthetic look on the Mi 6, which I feel doesn't make much sense since other companies like Samsung and Sony managed to make their phone looks clean and nice but the 3.5mm jack is still there.

this depends though. like redmi note 4, it took 3mths later after it release, but other previous model takes an even longer time to reach SG shores.

There are some photos with exif from both back cameras. Both cameras seem like have exact same lens of 3.8 mm, the 2x camera photos are softer with super small sensor.
