Even if the official global stable rom is release for Mi 6, you will not be able to update to the Global stable rom as your phone is installed with vendor rom which is not official. To change to Global stable rom, you need to unlock bootloader and flash it with Global Stable rom.

Ah okay, guess I will wait for the official release. Hopefully it will come soon.

If official global stable rom is released anf I'm in vendor rom, can I still update using mi suite recovery like described in the forum for beta rom?

I'd just apply unlock code to save yourself the trouble as most if not all hv unlock bootloader to flash. Not many if any hv tried using that method described without unlocking bootloader. Previously, it's still possible using edl mode but there is no edl mode anymore for new devices apparently

Finally flashed to global beta. :s12:

Used this post in xda as guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72573235&postcount=17

yeah, i got mi6 with eng bootloader now, i can see that the second option is wipe data/factory reset, so finally steps would be

unlock bootloader (must have!)

fastboot boot twrp-3.1.1.0-sagit-v2.img (must be this version)

in TWRP
wipe-format data
copy ROM to internal storage (while still in twrp)
flash rom
restart recovery

now should boot mi recovery
choose wipe data (second option)
restart system

enjoy ROM

please more confirm on this tutorial, thanks!

twrp have problem with the rom which will cause bootloop. Need stock recovery to wipe data after flash rom.

How do you all copy the rom to internal storage while in twrp?

I used twrp sideload but the phone was not visible from the computer. So used "adb sideload ota.zip" command to send the rom to the phone, the phone auto installed the rom.

Did you enable adb sideload from twrp?
Also is the adb drivers installed properly on your computer?

Need to install adb? I downloaded adb and fastboot package from android studio website, unzip to a folder and opened cmd from that folder.

Searched a bit, i think the correct command to copy file to the phone is 'adb push'.

1) Download adb driver for your phone
2) enable developer mode on ur phone
3) enable usb debugging in developer mode
4) download adb and use command prompt to go to your adb folder
5) connect your phone to pc, you should see a message on your phone that allows your pc to connect (check the box to enable always so u don't hv to see this message again)
6) type "adb devices" and you should see your devices recognised
7) voila, your phone is adb ready

The hardest part is probably finding the adb driver for your phone and make sure Windows recognise your phone. You may need to check pc device manager to see there is no error or exclamation that means there is an error

Hey guys what's the best app for rooted phone to see what is draining my battery?

Also anyone knows why when I try to install wake lock detector it will give me error about cannot mount rw storage?

I'm already rooted using magisk.

I tried it, and I also have magisk root... But in the partial wake lock section I always get "no stats have been collected yet"

Any ideas why?

It takes some time to collect data. Also your phone needs to be screen off for it to collect kernel and partial wakelocks data. If you use your phone, there won't be any data becos screen is on.

Received notification for 8.7.68 update on global beta rom. The reboot after update took longer than usual and the bar stuck at same place for minutes. Almost thought update failed. :(
