There still are import sets so you need to check.
I think rule of thumb is to make sure there's stock, then compare by warranty period if import set.
Also global vs China ROM if u don't wish to fiddle too much. Reviews are helpful to see how trustworthy the seller is.

Is there a difference between local set vs global rom?

Or are they both on global rom, but just that the warranty coverage is different?

I read previous posting, and it says that SG don't carry 128GB local set, hence they are probably all under global rom. So in terms of local usage, are there any difference between 64GB and 128GB?

Any set outside of China market should be on global ROM. Assumingly it's the same hardware so just the ROM is diff.
When it is an export set then, depending on origin, 3 situations: Sealed set-China ROM
Sealed set-Global ROM
Seller unsealed to flash China ROM to Global ROM

Local set vs export set will differ in warranty duration and who is honouring that warranty. Export sets if after a certain period (eg 7days) is sent for repair - might be overseas so u will have to wait weeks to get ur set back.

64 vs 128 is just capacity. Some ppl suggest they have different bugs, but that is anecdotal. If 128 not officially available locally, then u just have the export sets and the conditions I mentioned above.

also saw export set comes with google rom.
so how it still affect my ability to use google on mi6 as my integrated solution?

Local set comes with Google play and there's no issue with it.

Export set , some seller will flash global ROM. Some may not.

Most users here are on export and Global ROM.

I just bought one last Thurs from Qoo10 and received it today. Export set 128GB.

Before discount buy price = $619
After discount buy price = $619 - $100 (cart coupon promo) - $15 (gift card purchase, buy $100 credit at $97) - Q-points = $499

Congrats and welcome to the club.
I was almost burnt by the gift cards once - had $400+ stuck in qoo10 for 3 mths because they don't allow refunds for such credits.

Xiaomi may be introducing a 4GB RAM+64GB ROM Mi 6 soon, pricing is said to be RMB1999

Desperately need help with local warranty set mi6, can't use android Pay. Anyone tried using Android Pay at McDonald's or fair price? Went Xiaomi service centre they don't bother to help or check, Google tell me to go to my uob bank Visa card while uob says no issue. Never alter the rom before
