I usually text everyone using my current number first to let them know I’ll be changing it. Then once the new number is active, I send them a message again from that number to confirm. Otherwise, people might just think it’s spam and ignore it!

You would be surprise when you message them using new number and they response by saying who are you.

Use the current number. If it's a new number, 99.999% chance, it will be reported as spam and blocked.
