Mine is this. People always say carbon steel better but I think cast iron more suitable for home use because our burner is not strong. Cast iron can retain more heat first so when u start putting in your ingredients, the wok can hold the temperature.
same, i find cast iron easier to cook and control the fire for a noob like me

what do you mean?

nitrigan is make the surface harder and rust resist

thats marketing talk, or perhaps poor implementation on mine
since u use induction, then cannot use thin carbon steel wok....can warp n crack

in short it make cast iron and carbon steel rust free as nitriding hardens the surface of the iron or steel. This process creates a surface that is highly resistant to rust and damage,
Which brands got this ah?

This material wok still need to season?
yes, it just a super hard layer on top of the steel to prevent rust, etc.... still need to season and wash as per normal

it will chip and wear out also (just found out) so i think just normal cast iron or carbon steel can liao

TB is cheap but the metal they use got anyhow mix, no one will know cause tb always try to cut corner when they can

update:

temple street all is round bottom wok. but wok is cheap 18 to 36 (qua look lousy or 3.5 of 10 point)

i know why carbon steel wok so many color, like silver, black, grey, blueish:

grey usually is nitriging

black, blueish is pre season/ heat treated (oxidized) wok, no need to burn coating off wok, just need to do soap wash(when first use) then build on top of the factory preseason. how factory build no one will know

silver is raw metal color, mean need to use wash, burn off the coating then season
and to add, it if doesn't come in a silvery-gray color, it mean it's already been processed or treated in some way (black, blueish wok ).

processed or treated can heat treated, Polished, oxidized it (aka heat treatment to create a protective oxide layer before seasoning)
