Hi, any tailor recommendations for shirts and suit (for female)? Looking at the budget end of the scale probably.

As it will be my first time tailoring, would appreciate any tips on things to look out for. Tia

A bit off topic, but I bought non iron shorts from Benjamin barker recently... However, the shirts are still very wrinkled and ironing them seems more difficult than regular shirts.

The shirts do not get soaked when I spray them with water... Making the ironing extremely challenging...

Any tips or advice?

Sounds like the fabric has been subjected to some treatment which repels water. There is no hope for it already lah.

Hi guys!

Any tailor to recommend for a wedding suit? Looking at 2 or 3 piece suits.

Have looked at tailors like Assemble SG and really liked their fabric. Honestly very different and unique. but 3 piece custom suit at $1,800 is way above my budget.

Have looked at Red Dot Bespoke as well but none of the fabric really stands out for me.

Looking to spend $1k or below

Thanks in advance!

Choose tailor the fit more important consideration.. fabric worst case buy separate.. tailor might be able to help source too

Did you take note of the brand and collection of the fabric that you liked?

I am sure a lot of tailors carry the same swatches of fabrics from branded mills.

You may not want a fabric that is too unique in design too, after your wedding, not suitable to wear for any occasion. Unique in properties/material is ok, e.g wool with vicuna, if you like it.

I found out the material is Hopsack from the Drago Swatch

Perfect Attire has a promotion for Drago, but i think your budget of $1k for 3 piece suit is still too low. But overall, i think its the best value for a 2 piece Drago Full canvassed suit with complimentary shirt. Thank me later.

Hi Paladin, have you made any jacket/suit with PA before? Like to know your comments.

Just got my suit from them really fast better than all the other tailors I've been to, price point is fair for the speed and quality, fit was great too, only need go down test garment fitting once, and collected 2 weeks after

Hi, just visited Lai en today, as usual, business very good - first time visiting in 3 years.

Prices wise shirts still same price, I did the easy iron ones for 78 + topup 10 for mop buttons.

Not sure about the more atas fabric. Mdm neo still the one measuring.

Now is the best time to tailor, low demand period, so tailors are free and can do good job without rush. Good price too, most if not all tailors offering discounts. Demand will pick up in Dec for new year and CNY clothes, so can tailor some clothes now. In fact, now they will take some jobs that in busy periods, they will fuss over, e.g more alterations.

Has anybody been to Sakal to make shirts? How was your experience?
Customer service : A ( responsive, not fussy about alterations, may give freebies, polite, do honest living, eye for design and accommodative to ideas )
fabric price point : A ( for me , because I am long time customer, so I get promotional prices) . Carry most of the branded shirt fabrics, e.g Alumo Etc
workmanship: B ( no felled seam), some mind, some dun, my shirts still good condition after 3 years. If you mind, this may be a grade C to you. If you are connoisseur, you may be disappointed as MOP buttons is a special request too.
location: A ( opposite great hawker centre and near mrt)

so your experience will be great only if you do not mind not having felled seams.
my advise to tailoring shirts, not worth time and effort to tailor one shirt, tailor at least 3 in one go to enjoy some discounts.
