There are many places that sell fused suits in excess of $1000. A fused vbc suit is already well above $1000 at many tailors :)

Wool blend is 700+ if im not wrong. But yes VBC is well over 1k. That's all i know. Still unsure if it's fused or canvassed.

Anyway with reference to this thread Bespoke from Singapore (pic heavy!)

It seems to me that the canvassed jackets (from that thread at least) seems to have more accentuated hips; to the extent the balance is tilted and the hips are actually slightly larger than the chest? I actually find this rather unappealing. Is it because of the nature of a canvassed suit, such that it really follows the contours of the body (Ie if a man has a belly or wider hips and a smaller chest the suit jacket will drape over it) Or is it the way those suits have been specified to be constructed in that manner (Very tapered waists) ?

I guess we should be happy that a certain popular bespoke tailor in Singapore doesn't charge that much yet but have been exposed by pwnageownage :(

I was hoping it would stay buried.

Nope for Gshen's case it was due to his request for a more tapered waist. Also the shorter jacket length was a cause for the imbalance.

Nothing to do with the canvass.

Not possible for it to be buried, as Iris was already featured on Urban. I hope prices will not rise by much as it gets more busy.

Indeed, I hope so too. I popped down recently to have a chat, seems like they were swamped with orders.

It won't be long before another price hike. Heard a CMT was now going at 950, won't be long til they hit WW Chan's level.

I popped by recently too. It's 950 for their full bespoke 2 pc suit (100% wool). So i assume CMT has to be below that. VBC is about 1.2

Hmm that's odd. Maybe I'm not a VIP customer :s13:.

They said a 2 piece was 950 maybe I didn't hear it completely. I was charged 700 for a CMT of a sports coat recently that I am sure of.

3m should be enough for a suit for the smaller guys like myself. 3.5m will be enough for almost everyone.

You can get fabric from many sources - eBay, directly from the mill etc.

What he said. I got mine directly from the mill because I knew what I wanted specifically.

Depending on your size the amount of fabric varies. For example I am about 167cm with a 37 inch chest and 3m of fabric is more than enough for me including pattern matching.

K12345 - I would say the jacket was more occasionally than regularly worn, although the pants were much more abused and have withstood 2 years of wear without any tear.

Dylan does both fused and canvassed, obviously the latter being more expensive. There is scope for a fair bit of handwork finishing, plus Dylan does have a very good eye for things. At the risk of sounding like some sort of marketing person - rest assured I'm not, if anything I'm overspending! - I enjoy my trips there very much.

As regards "sewing is outsourced" - if you mean outsourced overseas, then no it isn't. I've asked, heard out his operational model, I'm satisfied it works (for me).

I musta missed the memo - what is it about that certain tailor which got exposed? Don't scare me leh I'm heading down this week to do a CMT suit...

Can anyone advise if CYC makes good suits? Have never tailored suits before, so any comments are greatly appreciated.

Looking to spend <S$1000, including the shirt.

Thanks!

CYC no good? I was still thinking of getting a shirt from them as some of the collar and cuff designs look pretty cool on their FB page.

Perhaps i'm the unlucky one that gets no big deal service, the person that attended to me doesn't really give suggestions, not much advice, i decided on the designs the collars etc myself, perhaps because i was using a voucher for the shirt but i did paid $130+ on top on the voucher ... much better service i had from clothesmith n rossi

personal feel :)

btw i think aston blake has nice clothes as well ;)
