i did mine at hong lim..was done by quite a young chap..wont say it suck la..but i will prefer my experience at RG(the 2 guys in RG quite young also..)

Been lurking around for a while, have to say something to do justice to RG. The sewing and quality is really top notch. Really like the tailored top I got from them.

Picked up my shirt from Dylan & Son today, and made another one as well - blue plaid with navy contrast collar and bias cut pockets. I don't work in an office environment so my shirts are all pretty colourful.

Pls post pics with you wearing the shirt.

Do you have a budget? If no budget and want local, just go to Kevin Seah. Ballpark is about 2k+

Thanks, but I don't really like his style. Just not for me :o.

Thinking of shipping in a Simon Spurr suit and getting a top-notch tailor to adjust the fit :s11:. Sooo... tempted.

Whatever makes you happy. It's your money.

For me, I will never buy a suit from a fashion label, ever.

Why not have a look at Kiton?

I doubt that he would like it.

When someone talks about a fashion label suit, you know that he likes suits that don't fit right and doesn't know anything about workmanship.

Skinny lapels, ridiculously short jackets, skin tight suit that is off balance and doesn't care about handwork.

What's the point in asking him to splurge 10k on a suit that he probably won't be able to appreciate?

I will want to tailor make a few tops as well as I will be migrating from my current workplace to a more professional MNC company upon completion of my studies.

I have heard good reviews on a particular tailor around Macpherson area but I have lost the name. Does it ring a bell?

Currently I'm more on the meaty side so I will want to slim down first before making these shirts...

:(

Hmm, think I should go and try them. Which range did you get? Saw from their website that they outsourced their production

Nope, my shoulders are way too wide for me to look good (personal feel) in a slim/skinny suit. Take a look at Simon Spurr's three-piece suits, they are purdy as hell.

style and workmanship is different. one is about taste and the other about skill. fashions labels may have generally inferior workmanship compared to higher end tailors but that don't mean their styles and designs are rubbish.
