LOCA glue stabilises in the next 24hrs after curing, so i guess those who initially can but now cannot might be due to the chemical changes obstructing the ultrasonic waves..

Just as an update: I reached out to Mobilestop. They said I can go back down to their shop, and return the screen protector, and they'll proceed with the refund.

Yeah, mine was pasted yesterday by Mobilestop. I messaged them last night about how if they told me that batch got faulty, I wouldn't even have gone down to do it to begin with. Then they say just return to the shop for them to RMA, and leave with the store person your FB name (most likely so they can match their records with the head office (which I imagine is the one doing the FB messenger stuff)), and send them your bank details via FB messenger. They'll refund the $60 via bank transfer by next week. If anyone wanna go down and get refund, better message Mobilestop on FB first, to get the go-ahead.

So much hassle. I'd rather just get a normal plastic screen protector + case lor. At least with plastic screen protectors, confirm 100% the fingerprint reader works.

I'd also like to add, after reading the S10 thread on here, that in my opinion, I'm 99% sure Whitestone Dome Glass screen protector is compatible with S10 in-display fingerprint scanner. It's probably just a bad production batch of something. But for those of us who are affected by the faulty screen protector, it doesn't feel like it works. Haha. At the very least, they are providing refunds, so not too bad lor. Only downside is the time wasted, and the money that is needed to be spent to get another plastic screen protector.

They did told me 30% might not work but it seems only 30% work. It just weird. My hb can register his fingerprint. N unlock like 70% will work. I couldnot even register mine. I have no problem registering n unlock on his mate 20 pro.

Hi, Just did my WSD Screen Protector. I think patience is key for the application process. After applying the screen protector, I use the UV light for around 5mins for the top part and 5mins for the both part. Then let it rest for around 5mins. Then 5mins for the top and bottom again. I believe it takes time for the LOCO to adhesive tightly.

After that, i re-register my fingerprint again. I did use more strength to register the fingerprint. But after registering the fingerprint at the same position(Do not do random positioning. Just use a fix position). I was able to unlock my phone from the black screen around 95% of the time. The only time i fail was my finger was not at the proper scanning area.

I believe just take your time to apply, dont rush it when applying it on. It is still at $50plus dollar screen protector.

Hope that helps. Cheers.

I suspect that they didnt cure it fully. Most of the time when i see these shops that cure it only do 1x 30secs and they call it done.

Gonna just yolo my when my wsd deliver to me. Report soon.

This is what i suspect to. Shops dont cure it long enough.

Doubt so. The shop cured mine v Long (got 30 mins on full screen). In addition I go back and cure longer (another 20 mins). The next day I tried re register again. Still no difference.

It’s either those who worked are lucky or those doesn’t work are unlucky.

Mine was cured a few times. Total curing time got 20-30mins
Did they let it rest. Then cure again. I am not some chemist, but i think you will need to let it rest then cure again. Curing continously doesnt help. The liquid will expand and contract depending like ions. Did you re-register your finger to one position only? Like keep pressing at the same angle.

Yeah, the lady did it for like 5-10 minutes, then let it rest for another 5 minutes before repeating the process. The whole process took 20-30 minutes for mine as well. Seeing as to how these people working there have done this numerous time, it's unlikely that it was a problem with the application of the protector. If so, why would they put out a statement regarding the 30% faulty thing?

Also, to the person who mentioned the mate 20 pro, that one uses an optical scanner so it'll work with any screen protector.

Also, if the screen protector works as intended, after turning on the touch sensitivity setting, the effort required to unlock your phone is more or less the same as when you were using the plastic screen protector that was included. If you needed to press noticeably harder to get it to register, something isn't working properly. I've already registered and deleted my fingerprints like more than 10 times. Definitely not user error since it was working perfectly before, on the included plastic screen protector.

Also, for those whose protector is working like 70-80% of the time, you need to decide if it's something you can live with, cause for me, the fingerprint scanner worked like 99% of the time on the plastic screen protector. I'd rather just return it, and get the refund. What if a few weeks later then got problem? Might not be able to get refund then. That's my personal opinion, at least.

With regards to the plastic screen protector, Mobilestop has it at around $15, but I'm searching for anywhere that might be selling it cheaper, before I head over to get my Whitestone removed.

It seems WSD Singapore has no official statement regarding this issue now. Hope they can do something about it else wasting people's money for nothing.

Yeah, Whitestone still hasn't released a statement, but check my first post when I started this thread. I've attached the statement by Mobilestop, since they're one of the official distributor/applicator in Singapore.

I've already applied a film screen protector. I found one at nex for $12. Quite decent quality, and no cutout for camera, so extra protection, I guess? The surface feels very smooth, and it's cheaper than others, so quite satisfied.

Now the fingerprint scanner only need a tap. So much more convenient.
