Take public transport must chiong to be the first to board and disregard others along the way. During peak periods always crowd near exits instead of moving in to let more people board. All must chiong for the empty seats,

On the roads always chionging and overtaking like rushing to someone's funeral, even if there's a red light in front and there's no point to drive so recklessly. When someone signals to move into their lane, many would accelerate even faster to not allow this. If someone makes a minor mistake on the road, horn until like no tomorrow, but if ownself make mistake, then it's just an honest mistake ma.

Came across too many cases of Singaporeans being rude and demanding to service staff, speaking to them in a very condescending tone when their expectations or special requests are not met. Be it in F&B, retail, transport or elsewhere, and sadly not just within Singapore but when they are overseas too. Even for things beyond control of service staff.

Comparing and competing with one another in all aspects of life, always preaching to other people on having to make the best or right decisions from their own perspective else be looked down upon.

Everything can also complain until no tomorrow.

How come like that?
society raise us to be like that

everything must fight ar fight

Hmm...TS sounds like those jhk who condemn own ppl. Then when come here to work will also proceed to condemn sinkies. It's in the blood that they think the entire planet of ppl owe them a living. True blue sinkies will never ever condemn own ppl, only condemn policy makers.

Old boomers always like to do this, standing in front of the sliding doors then chiong right for the reserved seat once the doors open.

We are only about 3 generations removed from the coolie era, can't expect much I guess.
I’m old and frail wait I fall down in the train how? :(

This really grinds my gears, especially now during rainy season where you will see them smoking under shelter and/or within 1m of bus stops.

Want to smoke but can't even be bothered to bring along an umbrella.
stand under umbrella will get wet also :(

Lee Kuan Yew said we are descendants of peasants.
Therefore it shows in low class behavior.
It is in the DNA.

I have personally witnessed a Singaporean Chinese couple eating dinner at a table in the old Rasa Singapura while they make their foreigner maid stand next to the table, watching them eat.
The Singaporean Chinese couple thought this is stylo-milo --- wah can show off we got servant.

They did not realize how low class their behavior was.

Malaysian Chinese are no better than Singaporeans.
They are also descendants of peasants.

I came across a video post today which says Singapore is a country with no culture, little civility and public etiquette. I don't disagree with that. A foreigner friend told me she was shocked that Singaporeans dressed so casually at funerals and weddings.

Whats worse is that some of them try to bring these behaviour into other countries. Such as talking loudly (Singlish and f words) in libraries and slippers in European art galleries etc.

Its a mental disease now. People slowly walking enjoying also kenna suan for blocking. Driving at speed limit also kenna suan for hogging. I always dont know people rushing to go where. Save 1min also happy. Die die cannot take wrong exit or turn, must cut across many lanes. Overtake also must overtake from infront even when behind no car. Waiting for right turn also kenna suan when it is safer. People chiong for seats. Win liao feel shiok and better than others.

It is a cannot lose or get embarrassed mentality. Quite bad. Overseas people dont even need to press door close button for lift!

A typical sinkie like to follow the book or law, many imported one from developing country don have same traits like sinkie. do you really think they will scare our authority??? Can only said too old too naive.
But people say locals create more crimes :(

always chionging and overtaking like rushing to someone's funeral,

The question I hear before ish "rushing to reincarnate ah?"

Usually drama ish rushing to hospital because someone giving birth (sometimes the pregnant woman ish in the car) or rushing to hospital because someone ish dying.

Never hear about rushing to someone's funeral.

Because gahment longed trained us to believe in meritocracy. To be meritocratic, one has to step over other people's heads to get ahead. Meritocracy has enabled us to be entitled and self-centered. To succeed in Singapore, one has to be ruthless and uncaring in order to climb up.

Selfish, self centered, boastful. We are like living in a dog eat dog world. The middle class call the rich Elitist and that they couldn't care less for those in the lower band but actually, the middle class, many themselves couldn't care less about the poor and those closest to them even at home and in their communities, like relatives and workplace. The very people that they accuse of discrimination, they will become should they become rich one day too.

The root cause of this happening is the Lost of Values both at home, in school and in society. We do not prioritise this enough.

Some people go to places of worship as a one sided affair... not because they're grateful and thankful for what they've received, but because they want more, more of everything. Nothing is enough for them.
As they say, too much ish not enough :(
