Why did my thread get deleted????

Unless the moderator moderate both forums, he/she cannot merge two threads reside in EDMW and Software Clinic respectively.

If, the thread in EDMW moved to Software Clinic, any Software Clinic resident moderator can merge the thread into a chronologically messed up thread.

I'm not being draconian, there are good reasons why we discourage members create multiple threads of the same content. The same reason why spammer are banned for spamming the Garage Forums with the same content.

So... was it deleted or shifted?

No, not me.

As far as I see, you or the other moderator have not answered my question.

I went by the other guy's logic which was basically teaching me basic maths.

The analogy from the said moderator might not be what you wanted to see or taken as not answering you. His point is clear and not confusing at all.

But what I see is, 98 replies got deleted, NOT shifted to the other thread (or a new thread), which is by logic, NOT basic maths.

You can have 300 replies in EDMW but how many replies are PCW replies or irrelevant replies not addressing the points you raised?

Thus the question is:

Why it got deleted.

How about 3)?

No need for the arrogance.

Feel free to give out warnings or infractions as per your SOP. It will only go to prove I'm correct since no one is able to explain where the thread went.

If the thread in EDMW moved to Software Clinic, I will first look at the date/time of the first post and merge them If needed. Or, I might simply delete one of the thread if nothing constructive or answered the question without any warning or infraction point.

If multiple threads from the same member pop up in Software Clinic with the same question again, I will give a warning follow by infraction if the warning is not enough to stop multiple threads asking the same question.

It seems a little silly, as the thread in EDMW was getting more replies/information than the one in Software Clinic. If one were to be deleted, you guys could have deleted the one in Software Clinic. Topic-related aside, I thought EDMW was an 'anything under the sun' forum where members could get more insight/knowledge into any topic.

Thanks for letting me know it has been deleted, I feel it got to do with more than 'spamming'.

It is relevant and pertinent. Let me explain it simply.

I have $5000 in my account. My partner informs me she is going to transfer another 1 million into my account. 2 days later she told me it has been done. I checked, and my account still reflected $5000. She insists it is done. If you were me - will you be asking where the 1 million went to?

Well, I will be but by your logic, you'll probably be accepting what she says as-is. But to each his own.

vj should do something asap. to have mods squabbling in feedback forum... it's disgraceful to say the least...

any disputes/dissatisfaction between mods should be kept internal

Take your pick:

1) 1 warning or 3 points infraction for spamming

2) Accept the explanation

3) Further pursuit the matter

4) Start another thread in EDMW again, 3 points infraction ensured

5) Spam every forums with the same question, p-banned ensured.

Let me give you a solution. How about merging the 2 threads and move them together to the SW clinic? Is that so hard?

As far as i see, no one have answered his question on where is the other thread which he like to know. This is something not un-reasonable. He has the right to know as member anyway.

Posting how he can get more infractions or P-bans doesn't help. But explaining why the other thread goes missing does. At least, he got his answer.

Some mods seriously need to keep their ego in check & go for EQ lessons. Esp those mods who are famous for having attitudes.

If someone did something wrong, correct it & advise him. No need to act high & mighty & sarcastically give ppl options to choose from.

Its like a boss telling his staff either i fire u or u resign yourself. Totally uncalled for & IMO is akin to abuse of authority and/or cyberbullying. On that topic, can a mod get infracted for abuse of authority and/or cyberbullying? Or for that matter, can a mod be infracted for adding fuel to fire? Isn't one of the responsibilities of mods to keep the peace? How to keep the peace when one is adding fuel to the fire?

Mod cannot merge threads unless mod oversees the same forums. What about admin? U mean even BJ cannot merge? If he can, would it not have been better to PM BJ & ask him to merge?

Or if that's too troublesome & mod cant be bothered then since the EDMW thread has more replies, wouldnt it be better to lock it rather than delete? Once locked no one else can reply. Then just leave a note saying hey discuss over at software clinic.

Simply deleting a thread seems to be the simplest, fastest, trigger happy solution done without much thought. Perhaps next time before taking ANY action, mods should sit back, take a chill pill, go take a piss if need be, then come back & rethink what should be done.

Yes its not easy being a mod. I know, was a mod for the now defunct superpet forum. But even at superpet there were good mods who had EQ & gave some thought before they took action. And there were trigger happy mods who went around quarrelling with ppl. Which was why it was NOT uncommon at superpet to see mods get defrocked.
