I set my router to auto reboot at 4am every night, this keeps the router software problem free most of the time
Not if you kena that starhub issue a few years back. Once turn off / restart won't have service.

If it's those Asus type of router, normally can on forever and just restart once in a while. You can switch those off if you are like going for a holiday and nobody is in the house.

Those more cock one by Stinktel, Lame One and Starfug, that type not as durable.

Some troubleshooting tips.

1. Check ONT. If LOS is red, call ISP, nothing you can do.
2. Ping your router. If can't reach your router, your WiFi is the culprit.
3. Ping your ISP gateway, the next hop after your router. You can find this info in your router.
4. Check your DNS. Make sure it's working. Use nslookup on Windows or dig on Mac/Linux

If problem is 2, reboot WiFi router. Otherwise call ISP.
