Has been allocated but not activated. There is a difference and I can confirm it is not activated and won't be activated until later this year

Timeline for Wi-Fi 6E in Singapore

IMDA will amend its Regulations to allocate the radio frequency spectrum 5,925 MHz – 6,425 MHz for Wi-Fi use in Singapore.

IMDA expects Wi-Fi 6E-enabled equipment and devices to be commercially available in Singapore by 3Q 2023.

Won't be able to use 6e in Singapore until IDA approve it. I have AXE 16000 and S22 and both can use 6e in Australia. Bring to Singapore and both have it now geographically disabled.

My republic now have 10gbs?
Yes they do have 10gbps plan now which u need to log in to myrepublic apps to upgrade.

I thought the router is lock by firmware...

Anyway myrepublic support refer me to tp link support and tp link refer me to my isp. But am asking tp link is there any firmware to unlock it...

I am only a newb so can't post links but you look on Tp site and you find this

Your device includes WiFi 6E-capable hardware might not have Wi-Fi 6E capabilities since the regulators of some regions have not approved the 6G band.

These devices (ASUS, samsung phones, TP routers have geo restrictions on them and 6E won't work on them until Singapore allows it. My S22 has 6E active when I go to Australia, come back here and die. It is slated for Q3 23 so until then you will need to be expert coder to bypass geo restrictions

Anyone knows if Google will sell its nest wifi pro in Singapore?
Could see some exporters on carousell and shopee/lazada though.

It is not good for its price in terms of performance, coverage and FW features, just skip Google.

You will be better off using Asus, Netgear, TP-Link or Linksys when they start to sell WiFi 6E router and mesh solutions.

TP-Link may start to offer cheaper yet decent WiFi 6E router and mesh solution in Singapore soon.

Interesting there is a AX5400 triband USB 3.2 WiFi 6E adapter at about US$30.
https://www.amazon.com/802-11AX-Tri-Band-Antennas-EDUP-Compatible/dp/B0CC98DGZM

Hopefully more vendors will come out such USB WiFi 6E adapters in Singapore, for people who do not want to open up their PC/Laptop. Right now vendors are typically selling AX3000/AX1800 USB adapter.

Netgear is selling A8000 NIGHTHAWK TRI-BAND USB 3.0 WIFI 6E ADAPTER (AXE3000) at S$129.
https://netgearstore.sg/products/a8...0-adapter-axe3000?_pos=1&_sid=ea5811e8e&_ss=r

AX1800 USB adpters are cheaper now at about S$49 from D-Link (DWA-X1850) and S$59 from TP-Link (Archer TX20U+).

Hey Xiaofan, can explain a bit more (for a non-technical user) how I can use this?

I have multiple laptops in the house (for wife and kids) and recently upgraded to a 10G broadband plan. Waiting for a 10G adapter to wire connect one laptop. But looking for ways to improve on the other laptop wifi speed more while waiting for the wifi6E router firmware upgrade.

Thanks for share your knowledge. :)

I do not really recommend the low cost EDUP AXE5400 adapter from Amazon. It is better to wait a bit more so that other vendors with better track record to provide such USB WiFi AXE5400 adapters, and wait for the devices vendors to enable WiFi 6E support in Singapore.

What kind of wireless adapters are you using in your current laptops? You can check from Windows Device Manager if you are using Windows.

If you are already using Intel AX200/AX201/AX210/AX211 adapters, there is no need to upgrade. They are still good enough for a few years.

If your laptop has high end 2x2 AC 160MHz channel wireless adapter (Intel AC9260/AC9560), I think you also do not need to upgrade.

If you are still using Intel AC7265/8265 (2x2 AC) or even Intel AC9461/9462 (1x1 AC) wireless adapters, and you do not want to wait for better AXE5400 USB WiFi adapters, you can choose to upgrade to the USB AX1800 adapters I mentioned before: S$49 from D-Link (DWA-X1850) and S$59 from TP-Link (Archer TX20U+). They are very easy to install (just insert the adapter and follow the vendor instruction to install the driver) and you will see the benefits of improved WiFi speed immediately.

I do not recommend Netgear A8000 due to its high cost at S$129. It is based on MTK chipset which does not support 160MHz channel.

How long before M1 replaces their AX6000 offering with this?

Hmm, they are different class of product.

RT-AXE7800 is a low end triband WiFi 6E router with low end Broadcom BCM6756 CPU (Quad Core Arm Cortex A7 32bit CPU, at 1.7GHz), only slightly better than the BCM6755 used in the low end RT-AX55 router.

GT-AX6000 is a high end WiFi 6 router will almost everything better than RT-AXE6000 (much faster BCM4912 Quad Core Arm Cortex A53 64bit CPU at 2GHz, 1GB RAM, dual 2.5G ports), other than the WiFi 6E support (RT-AXE7800: triband 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz).

Asus list price for RT-AXE7800 --> S$399
Asus list price for GT-AX6000 --> S$699 (it is just that you can get BNIB units from Carousell at around S$450 to S$480). At the Carousell price, it is one of the best value buy for Asus routers here in Singapore.

RT-AXE7800 is a low end WiFi 6E router from Asus. But I tend to think S$399 is not a bad price as the first WiFi 6E router from Asus to be sold in Singapore market, especially if you want to use it for Wireless mesh (as the mesh node) in the future.

Review from DongKnows is postive.
https://dongknows.com/asus-rt-axe7800-wi-fi6e-router-review/

Simple review:

Let's see if Asus can come out with WiFi 6E routers based on MediaTek Filogic 880 chipset which will be pretty good in terms of price/performance ratio (faster than low end Broadcom/Qualcomm chipsets) and yet cost effective compared to high end Broadcom/Qualcomm chipsets).

Asus has launched two MediaTek Filogic 830 chipset based WiFi 6 router (TUF-AX4200 and TUF-AX5400). TUF-AX4200 is a good buy at S$249 with local warranty. Filoic 830 CPU is much faster than the BCM6750/BCM6755/BCM6757 CPU used in mid-range Asus rotuers like RT-AX82U, ZenWiFi XT8 and RT-AXE7800.

There are a few WiFi 6E capable routers vailable in Singapore now. Hopefully the users of Asus RT-AXE7800 and ZenWiFi Pro ET12 can report here.

1) TP-Link Archer AXE300 (from MR 10Gbps trial, or early batch of Starhub 10Gbps trial) -- WiFi 6E function not enabled. Waiting for FW updates.

2) Asus RT-AXE7800 at S$399 from Asus Singapore
3) Asus ZenWiFi Pro ET12 at S$1249 per pair from Asus Singapore (same price as ZenWiFi Pro XT12).
