Hey Xiaofan, can explain a bit more (for a non-technical user) how I can use this?
I have multiple laptops in the house (for wife and kids) and recently upgraded to a 10G broadband plan. Waiting for a 10G adapter to wire connect one laptop. But looking for ways to improve on the other laptop wifi speed more while waiting for the wifi6E router firmware upgrade.
Thanks for share your knowledge.
I do not really recommend the low cost EDUP AXE5400 adapter from Amazon. It is better to wait a bit more so that other vendors with better track record to provide such USB WiFi AXE5400 adapters, and wait for the devices vendors to enable WiFi 6E support in Singapore.
What kind of wireless adapters are you using in your current laptops? You can check from Windows Device Manager if you are using Windows.
If you are already using Intel AX200/AX201/AX210/AX211 adapters, there is no need to upgrade. They are still good enough for a few years.
If your laptop has high end 2x2 AC 160MHz channel wireless adapter (Intel AC9260/AC9560), I think you also do not need to upgrade.
If you are still using Intel AC7265/8265 (2x2 AC) or even Intel AC9461/9462 (1x1 AC) wireless adapters, and you do not want to wait for better AXE5400 USB WiFi adapters, you can choose to upgrade to the USB AX1800 adapters I mentioned before: S$49 from D-Link (DWA-X1850) and S$59 from TP-Link (Archer TX20U+). They are very easy to install (just insert the adapter and follow the vendor instruction to install the driver) and you will see the benefits of improved WiFi speed immediately.
I do not recommend Netgear A8000 due to its high cost at S$129. It is based on MTK chipset which does not support 160MHz channel.
