For the mobile phone it is 190mbps.
So what wireless card or adapter or repeater should I buy
This are below $300 mesh. Not sure how much you wanna invest on.

all these has LAN port?
As I mention earlier issue was with the WiFi card I am using. prefer to use lan cable.
If you want to use lan cable. Than gett a longer LAN cable to connect your laptop to the router? It should cost $20-30 depends on length
Unable to confirm how much you will get because
1. Depends on user equipment (hardware, OS and firewall setting)
2. Surround Environment (Nearby wifi and house layout.

- Pick a right wifi channel (need to scan your Environment)
- Router/Wireless AP placement
- Deploy the mesh using Ethernet backhaul.

Ethernet backhaul if you using a dual band mesh will help the speed a lot. If you getting a triband mesh than it has a dedicated band for wireless backhaul.

It depends on your budget, if just connect lan cable to a repeater, just buy from carousel 868L at $10 or EA8100 at $40, set it in wireless bridge or repeater mode. Since your main router is EA8100 (4x4), 868L should get you 300+ Mbps since 3x3, while EA8100 should get you 400+ Mbps since 4x4.
My 868L when connect to 2x2 router is around 200+ Mbps, 15m away but in line of sight. If through a thick wall for another PC, about 80Mbps. Only problem is slow startup, about 2 mins.
Best advice here for pragmatic approach vs $500-1000 recommendations. Ultimately the client devices are the bigger bottlenecks.

His router good enough. My friend using the same router on Starhub gets 400-500 download on this iPhone in his living room. Bedroom has 150+\~ download speed.
Agree the end client device has to be look at first.

I just tried the 868L, when on the manual internet setting and press the scan and key in the preshared key. The button never response. I am on 121shc firmware btw.
Ah, so, I presumed you changed the IP address after changed to repeater mode and then scan the router signal + key in password, save ? then just go back to your PC and change back to auto.
Basically for 868L a bit tricky :
1. go into 868l, change to repeater mode, reboot (2 mins)
2. go into your pc local network settings, manually input 192.168.0.51 (or any other 192.168.0.xx except xx=50) for IP address, subnet is automatic to 255.255.255.0
3.in browser go to 192.168.0.50 (868L default address when in repeater mode)
4. in wireless, do the scan (either 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz), input password, save and reboot (2 mins)
5. ** remember ** to change back your pc local network settings IP address back to auto (not specific 192.16.0.xx anymore), ie, "obtain an IP address automatically"

I cannot do that,
my PC is with limited rights.
So what I did was D868-L as WIFI , EA8100 as repeater mode.
Anyway, the GUI save settings button on D868-L isn't working well as well.
When I reach step 4 or step 5, and press save settings button ,it aren't responding at all.
So my best bet will be to buy another EA8100.
Anyway, with this approach I managed to hit 220 mbps download 300 mbps upload.

Hi, perhaps you may like to try my method:
EA8100 as a main wifi Router, set your DIR-868L as a wireless bridge, and connect your PC to the wireless bridge with wire. By doing this I can get 470Mbps - 250mbps dl and ul
Set DIR-868L with a static IP address, choose wireless bridge at "Manual internet connect setup" -> "Bridge Mode" select wireless bridge.
At the wireless setting, select 5G connect in line with your EA8100 wireless 5G setting.
Ah, maybe you might want to try hk7310 method and see. The EA8100 should be your main router.
Distance is also a criteria for your 5G connection. Like mine 15m is around 200+ Mbps, but when I used a laptop to set it up last year (using lan cable to 868L and about 1m away from EA8100 router), I got around 800+Mbps.
If hk7310 method can not work, you can try to use the WPS button, last year I tried can work, think if I remembered correctly its asus router (last year starhub changed to fibre so did a lot of testing on different routers and routers in repeater/wireless bridge mode) you just need to go into 868l, changed it into repeater or wireless bridge mode, reboot, then remove lan cable, wait 3 mins, press the wps button on ea8100, then wps button on 868L, and wait for them to link. iirc i pressed the WPS again the second time then its 5G connection (1st WPS is 2.4Ghz). I remembered some routers can not work this way, so, if can not work then just ignore. remember to disable WPS in main router afterwards as it can be easily hacked within hours.
The wireless bridge and wireless repeater mode cannot work. something wrong with the gui
You method really works. it hit about 450 for my download speed.
But there is an issue, the speed drop to below 100 mbps after a few tries..
worst then the speed without repeater or ethernet backhaul.
Sometimes the speed goes back and forth between 450 and <100mbps.

too bad you can't setup as wireless bridge and connect it with wire to your PC. I can get the best is 490Mbps dl. With 1 wall on a direct line distance of 3.5 meter away, on M1 500Mbps. I have tested the wireless repeater mode, find that the wireless bridge mode is better in speed.

I am using two sets of EA8100,
I notice during good times the DL speed will go to 400mbps.
There are also times when it will cap at 100mbps, worst off then without a repeater. What could be the issues?
Wireless interferences and environment would be the common cause. You might need to tweak channels, transmission power, etc. But, some environments (by luck) could be poorer in nature.
