Wireless interferences and environment would be the common cause. You might need to tweak channels, transmission power, etc. But, some environments (by luck) could be poorer in nature.

Just changed the mode on the repeater. Managed to get back up to speed.

I am using Starhub 1gbps->EA8100->Wifi->EA8100 (Repeater Mode)-> LAN port on the laptop, download speed is 389.32mbps and upoad speed is 621.99mbps. Is there any way I can go faster

That is already pretty good for EA8100 media bridge, especially your upload speed.

Only thing is that you may try a different speedtest server to feel better, for example, try PT Mora Telematika Indonesia server to see if you can get faster download speed (eg: 500Mbps+ or even 600Mbps+).

Make sure you do not have other clients connecting to your router. And test it in another time. You can also try different test servers.

Another possibility is to try the wireless bridge mode and not repeater mode. And make sure your second EA8100 has good conection to the main EA8100 (line of sight, no walls in between).

This was my test result for wireless bridge from EA7500 v2 (4*4 AC 80Mhz) with the main router to be Asus RT-AX82U (4*4 AX 160MHz). Your results will most likely be lower as EA8100 v1 will not be as strong as Asus RT-AX82U.
