1. Xiaomi BE5000 vs Xiaomi BE3600 vs TP-link TL-7DR5130 vs Ruijie BE50. This video kind of covers some of the most popular low end China dual band WiFi 7 router (BE3600 and BE5000).

Xiaomi BE5000 is similar to Ruijie 雪豹 BE50 and TP-Link China TL-7DR5130, all three use the same lower-end CPU -- Airoha AN7563PT dual core Arm Cortex A53, with NPU, 6nm process technology) and same wireless chipsets from Mediatek. Airoha is also a subsidiary of Mediatek. All three also have the same 512 MB RAM.

Xiaomi BE3600 uses faster Qualcomm IPQ5312 CPU but only has 256 MB RAM.

Overall score from ZhiDian XCG --> Ruijie BE50 at 7.22; TL-7DR5130 at 6.58; Xiaomi BE5000 at 6.57. So basically Xiaomi BE5000 and TL-7DR5130 are very similar. Reason I prefer Xiaomi is that TP-Link is known to cut the HW after sometime for some models.

2. The following video covers the comparison between low end WiFi 7 vs low end WiFi 6 from Xiaomi: Xiaomi BE3600 vs Xiaomi AX3000T (both have 256MB RAM).

Mid-range China WiFi 7 router (RMB 500 to RMB 800), the following two videos cover 6 most popular dual band WiFi 7 routers from China (BE6500 and BE7200).

Asus 小旋风Pro (TUF-BE6500), Ruijie BE72 Pro, TP-Link China TL-7DR6560 and TL-7DR7260.

One more comparison: ZTE BE7200 Pro+ and Xiaomi BE6500 Pro.

This one is an interesting test -- HW QoS is normally not possible with typical consumer wireless router (including flagship Asus and TP-Link WiFi 7 routers). I tend to believe ZTE uses the NPU to enable HW QoS for ZTE BE5000+, if not the CPU inside the router ZX279133 is quite weak.

Once HW NAT offloading is disabled when enabling QoS, often the routing performance will greatly dropped. Usually we will need to ask Asus router users to disable all QoS related settings including traffic monitorning if the Internet speed is low. ZTE seems to be able to sort out the issue.

Also Asus QoS implementation seems to be problematic --> the speed achived for TUF-BE6500 is half of Xiaomi BE6500 Pro, even with the same Qualcomm IPQ5322 CPU.

ZTE seems to be a popular alternative in China to TP-Link China, Xiaomi and Huawei. Now they are No. 4 in the consumer WiFi router market in mainland China as per the reports.

List of the models:

Main models to recommend:
ZTE BE72 Pro+ (中兴问天BE7200Pro+路由器), RMB 599

ZTE AX5400 Pro+ (中兴AX5400 Pro+路由器), RMB 499

Other than TP-Link Global models being sold in the Singapore market (TP-Link Systems Inc is now a seperate company from TP-Link China), Xiaomi has a few global models selling in Singapore market as well, like Xiaomi AX3600 and Xiaomi AX9000, then Xiaomi AX3000 mesh and Xiaomi AX3200. Latest model is Xiaomi BE3600 at about S$82.

Last time Huawei had WiFi 6 routers like Huawei AX3 Quad Core version and AX3 (dual core) selling in Singapore market as well. Now they seem to stop selling routers in Singapore.

Huawei still sells router outside of mainland China market, like HUAWEI WiFi Mesh 7 (AX6600) and Huawei BE3 (BE3600) along with AX3 Pro, AX3 and AX2.

Interestingly Huawei also launches lowest end AX1 in selected global market. The name is confusing though, it is actually an AC1200 rated WiFi 5 router.

Sold off my asus Tuf Be6500 pro (*Served as AP*), want to try out other china router to pair up with Nokia XS-2426X-A (*On starhub 5bps plan*).
Now looking at ZTE BE72 Pro+ and rujie BE72pro to act as AP.

Which one will you all recommend? Most of my devices are connected via wifi, so prefer stronger and faster Wifi strength.

ZTE BE72pro is cheaper (* I read on china forum, a lot users feedback internet connection will keep disconnecting, dnt know how true is it*) $599yuan and rujie is more expensive at $759 yuan

Ruijie BE72 Pro is for sure better in terms of wired and wireless spec. It has much faster CPU as well.

Xte be72pro price is attractive, $50+ cheaper than ruijie be72pro. Since i will be using it as AP only. So not sure is it worth it to get the ruijie one

If you just use it as an AP, I think ZTE BE7200 Pro+ is fine.

I do not use it often recently since I am testing TP-Link Archer BE805 and HB710. But I was using it quite often in year 2024 and I think it is quite stable, either in AP mode or router mode, and with MLO enabled as well.

Take note I use RT-AX86U for legacy 2.4GHz clients so not really testing much on the 2.4GHz band, only 5GHz and MLO.

Ruijie sub-brand Reyee is another company which offer some nice WiFi 7 and WiFi 6 models in selected global market, unfortunately not in Singapore.

Example: RG-EW7200BE PRO, Cloud-Managed 7200 Mbps Wi-Fi 7 Gaming Router, this seems to be similar to China version of Ruijie BE72 Pro, with 2 x 2.5 Gbps WAN ports, 3 x 2.5 Gbps and 4 x 1 Gbps LAN ports;
9 antennas and 9 FEMs.

Just for sharing, I saw some posts on little red book mentioning that ruijie stop production for be72pro and be68 ultra already. There willnt have any future firmware update supporting them also.

Not sure how true. So those planning to get ruijie above 2 models. Be aware.

I tend to think this is not true. They closed their JD (JingDong) shop and their own online shop, but then the routers are available in their Taobao Flagship store.

Ruijie BE72 Pro at RMB 898.
Ruijie BE68 Ultra at RMB 769.
Ruijie BE50 at RMB 349.

Taobao links.

Hope its not true either. Better to have them around, so consumers like us have more choices.

One more option of low cost 10G capable dual band WiFi 7 router (no 6GHz band) for SIMBA users.

D-Link DPN-BE7212GR BE7200 dual band WiFi 7 router at S$179 for SIMBA users.

Simba now offers DLink Wifi7 router for top up

My take --> good to have one more option even though Starhub issued HB710 may be better.

Nice one.

It is good that D-Link comes out WiFi 7 router for local market as well. But it seems to me this is more geared toward service providers and not consumers -- you can see spec like TR-069.

I do not see it in the main consumer site.
https://www.dlink.com.sg/product-category/products/networking/wifi-routers/

D-Link DPN-BE7212GR BE7200 dual band WiFi 7 router spec:
https://www.dlink.com.sg/product/be7200-dual-band-wi-fi-7-10g-mesh-router/#nf_specs

S$179 is not a bad price for the spec. But then Starhub issued TP-Link HB710 at S$192 (dual 10G ports, triband BE18000, quad core IPQ5322 CPU, 1GB RAM) is more worth though, unless you need the extra four 1G LAN ports in the D-Link DPN-BE7212GR.

For example: 1.2GHz dual core CPU, 512MB RAM, dual band BE7200.
Only thing better than HB710 is that it has four 1G LAN ports.

Hmm, one thing this guy says is correct, the price has gone up for Ruijie BE72 Pro and BE68 Ultra. So the price is not competitive now.

Ruijie BE72 Pro at RMB 898.
Ruijie BE68 Ultra at RMB 769.
Ruijie BE50 at RMB 349.

@xiaofan would you recommend getting a eero max 7 or 2x HB710 for around 800sqft house. The eero max 7 will be placed in the living room whereas for the HB710, one will be placed in DB and another in the master bedroom connected via wired backhaul.

Where is the DB box? Is your DB box is using plywood door or metal door? Where will be the intended placement locations of the week Max 7 or the two HB710?

Usually two HB710 with Ethernet backhaul will have better wireless coverage than single Amazon eero Max 7. But placement is also important.

The DB box is at the entrance and it has a plywood door. The eero max 7 will be just on the right side of the dining table while the HB710 will be in the DB box and in front of the bed in the master bedroom.
