The businessman are just middle man.

They managed the manpower cost and manage the sales.

Then earn the margin.

It will never affect them.

whats the point to higher education and upgrading when bosses still wanna suppress your wage?

Minimum wage is to protect the lowest employees in the food chain.

If you don't upgrade, you will remain at the bottom.

By the way, I doubt minimum wage is applicable to you.

so fast show his true colors alr.

minimum wage is not to give the lower paid employees more money or higher salaries, but to ensure that they are a paid a fair wage

this is recognized by everyone who is talking for or against minimum wage.

the PAP has talked and discussed minimum wages before in parliament and even the newspapers has discussed about it before.

but there has NEVER been any discussion about, if the "cost" of increasing wages should be transferred to the consumer, or anyone besides the employer - simply because it should never be a question about WHO TO TRANSFER THE COST TO

what minimum wage does is to make it illegal to pay your employees a wage that does not allow them to live properly

this is why minimum wage is called minimum wage. it is the lowest amount that an employee can pay their workers.

dun come talk about "increasing costs" simply because if you are paying your employees minimum or above minimum wage, your costs would not have increased at all!

if you are paying your employees below minimum wage, then YOU need to pay your employees more.

even the PAP is able to recognise this and they themselves have stated that singapore does not have minimum wage because it would be set so low that it would be make setting a minimum redundant!

no need to help him to look good. He is just not good enough to foresee the problem or he think that the problem that arise from minimum wage is not his problem as long as he can be the hero to the supporter.

Domestic helper 1.3k ??

Domestic helper confirmed will be more expensive than now. When doing Visa to Australia, there is a guideline to follow minimum wage law.

For example, if your bring current Singapore maid ( mine is Malaysian) to Australia, you need to pay the maid according to minimum wage in Australia.

Therefore the salary for the local maid will definitely set to rise once minimum wage has been implemented

I don't think Jamus is not aware of the fact that main purpose of having a minimum wage is to make sure that workers can live on their pay in a respectable manner.

PAP tries to distort the discussion by suggesting that minimum wage is irrelevant because it will be lower than what workers are already being paid. But there reality is that many FWs are not paid enough for them to live a decent life here in sinkieland.
