Ok so now i had got my rigs part ready but i realise i never choose a dvdrom. Realise now pc case dont have 5.25 cage. So i am planning to go sim lim to install my rig. If i purchase a win 11 from the shop. How would they install win 11 into new rig and also i would get back win 11 disc? or now it come with usb or iso?

Or to buy usb flashstick and download from win 11 website to make it as usb boot drive but use back the old win 10 disc product key from many years ago? Note: i do not receive any upgrade to win 11 email eligibility.

Or if i buy win 11 from shop i still need to get external dvdrom that connect via usb? i cannot find one that support usb 3.0.

Your Win 10 product key is Retail or OEM license ?
If OEM, it's tagged to old system only but it's worth a try to see if you can activate it.

i bought it from shop too with a disc. But is already install on this old rig. I dont think i can use this product key. And this old rig might be a backup use for simple normal usage.

If it looks like the below pic, should be OEM.
Get a new Windows key then since you are planning to keep using the old rig.

just download window 10/11 creation tool first and install with thumbdrive, don't need to activate to use. Don't waste money on retail no difference.

i mean nowaday if go shop get them to assemble the rigs. They would only install windows to unactivated stage. You are suggesting now is to create a usb boot thumbdrive then install at the shop? But then without product key can use until how long? how about windows update?

I don't know about store, never go sls for over a decade. But if they were to install os for you just request not to activate the os.

You can buy cheap "grey keys" from e-reseller. 10 to 20 bux only.

The other thing you should check is whether your current window is tie to your ms account or mobo. If tied to ms account then you don't have to buy new keys.

1) Is the Win 10 key still being used on other PC?
2) Shops usually have their installer on USB, hardly anyone use disc to install.
Not to mention if install from disc will be way slower than USB.
I tried before for Win 10 in the past, took about half an hour or more.
While USB around 10 - 20 minutes Windows is installed.
3) Download from Microsoft to create a USB Windows installer.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows11
Times have change, unlike Win 7 or 8.1 ISO or USB is fine since they don't realize
new version time to time.
Win 10/11 wise best to use the USB installer so you can obtain the latest Win version.
DVD version that is provided usually can be out of date version.
For me I have Win 7, 8.1 and 10 legit retail license, only 7 and 8.1 is disc version while 10
is USB even though I have the physical copy.
Mine is not $10 legit retail license cost few hundred, you may ask why buy so expensive license?
Retail unlike OEM, the CD key can be move to a new PC while OEM cannot.
Those $10 more unlikely as it is subscription based from either company or schools.
I have two PC Win 7 and Win 10 for my day to day to use.

2) i have win 11 usb boot ready on thumbdrive.
3) so if i bring thumbdrive to shop after they assemble the rig can they use my thumbdrive to boot and install win 11 unactivated? so i dont need to buy win 11 license from shop.

Yes you can do that, pass them your thumbdrive than they will install for you.
If you didn't buy or provide them the license key than the Windows will be unactivated.

does unzip of iso files from step 3, copy to thumb drive good enough?

No iso format is to be burnt on DVD.
It cannot be unzip and copied to thumb drive, even files can be copy.
The PC won't be able to boot since it is not partition as a bootable drive.

For USB tool it will partition the drive first than copy all the files than it could boot.
