$15 you must chosen the highend one. I just checked my quote, mine was $4 ($3.6 after 10% discount). I am using their 18H, which is Dark Grey and total solar energy rejection (TSER) of 63%. I google and found TSER is more important than IRR. Don't understand what you meant by "take a 3m metre to test their sample paper already out of specs"

Anyway, each will have their own preference. Just share my cost so that we as consumer will know what is available. Maybe you share the company and cost that did your window film.

Hi do you PMing me your contact for solar film? Thank you!!

HI, am shopping around to install solar window film for my apartment: appreciate if someone can advise which solar window film is the most effective. Am considering Vcool, 3M and sunguard & a lower cost in house brand from Korea. Many thanks.

Hi Janice,

To choose which window film is most effective for you, maybe you can go through these steps:

1) What is the main problem your apartment is facing - heat/glare?
2) What type of heat rejection would you want - absorb heat or reflect heat.
3) How dark you want it to be - visible light transmission level.
4) Choose the above type and do some testing - through heat lamp to feel the difference
5) Budget and pricing
6) Lastly if you are comfortable working with the window film salesman, ask any questions if you are not sure and see how do they reply.

If you have any questions about window film though, feel free to PM me anytime. :)
Would be happy to assist, believe in education of the product first, as many consumers do not know the details and just follow salesman recommendation.

Can check out Hew’s Cool Solar Films. You can fb search on them. Not related to them, but just got the safety film installed by them for my shower screen. They do windows film as well, cannot comment on their windows film though, just sharing another contact.

There could be a few reasons why the films wont stick.

1) The glass windows is not cleaned sufficiently thus there are still many dirt particles on top which makes it difficult for the film to adhere onto the windows.

2) The DIY film you purchased could be of low quality thus the adhesive will not be as strong and sticky.

3) Is your window a textured surface? As films can only be installed on smooth glass surfaces.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

Anyone knows of any companies providing window solar films + installation? I'm only interested in doing my kitchen windows and wish to block out as much sunlight and heat as possible.

I checked with a company, and they said just doing the kitchen windows would be very expensive.

Thank you.
Hi are you still keen on installing solar films?
