My r ( 3900X can enable fTPM, yours should be supported as well, so try finding it in your BIOs and enable it. When I did this, my main rig passed the requirement.

Read in some overseas forums, some are saying scalpers are buying up all available add-on TPM modules.

I am guessing if Microsoft want more user to adopt windows 11 in future they might come out with some lite version (as based on windows 10) possible and the early adoption rate will probably a test of market response.

If you bought your intel/amd mobo and cpu within the last 4-5 years, there is a high chance you have firmware TPM already. Just enable it in BIOS, its under AMD fTPM / Intel PTT, mine is under CPU configuration in bios, others may be under trusted computing. Check if you have it in bios first, before wasting money on a TPM module. Only old systems needs TPM modules, which you should consider if its worth upgrading to win11 because win10 will still be active until 2025, upon which your system will be a 10 year old relic already anyway.

Also, win11 requires UEFI boot, no longer supports CSM/legacy bios, so if your old system is still on legacy mode then you need to change to UEFI.

Only if you use bitlocker with fTPM enabled.

Just a side note, if you swap CPUs, you'll need to reflash the BIOS to get fTPM working again if you had it enabled on your old CPU.

I have 3600 and a basic Gigabyte B450 board. I just checked and there is no fTPM option in the BIOS. There is a header for the TPM module but there is no way I am going to spend $100 for it just to run windows 11.

I mean the warning only holds if you use bitlocker with fTPM enabled. If you don't enable Bitlocker, you can just ignore the warning. Could have worded my previous post properly.

Which motherboard model? Ftpm is a basic feature that should be in all recent mobos

I had the Gaming 7. There should be a TPM option in the BIOS.

which gigabyte mobo model? i went ahead to check a few basic gigabyte b450 mobo manual and all have... bios > peripherals > AMD CPU fTPM. default is disabled.
